Used this to connect my headphones to my iPhone. Enables you to listen to things, music etc but if you’re on a call/video call it seems to stop the phones mic from working so no one could hear me. Scrapped this and bought the genuine apple item, which I mistakenly thought I was getting in the first place (my fault) and the genuine apple cable works perfectly. So don’t bother with this just buy the genuine article!

In fact, I think they work better than the Apple version I bought for the iPad, as they make crackling, creaking, and cutting sounds when the cables are moved. This adapter is great for me and the price is also reasonable.
