Very expensive
Very hard to find and if you do, the cost is prohibitive! I paid $1.69 each for 3 because that's all the vendor had. Few days later, price increased to almost $4 per piece. Glad I got what I did. They help save time when you need to relocate a sprinkler body. Instead of yanking the barb/NPT elbow off the hose and increasing the probability of leaking with a new barb coupler, screw this piece on instead and connect your new silly pipe. Looks like I may need to do the latter with these prices. Spears wants $8 each! Very few choices on Amazon; PEX is double the cost and won't work with anything non-PEX.

Works well with other rainbird products
Pros: super easy install. Works best with rainbird tubing - the green stripe one.Cons: can fit loosely with other branded pipe

Made for Swing Arm Tubing
Not meant for regular 1/2 in tubing. These are designed for the thick 1/2 swing arm tubing. They might make a tighter seal with that tubing; however, I am using it with regular 1/2 in tubing on my drip system. I'll report back if it leaks.

You can clearly see that this fitting is narrow.
These fittings run VERY narrow and do not fit tight into 1/2 pipe. The RainBird BVAL50 valves which are also 1/2 inch did fit tight. In theory these two fitting should both fit the same but they dont. I bought 12 of each and they all fit the same. I ended up using hose clamps to tighten the pipe to the fitting and they still leak if I close all of the valves. Good thing it is only for irrigation. and not under constant pressure.

Barb leaks. Too small
Connected to correct tube size and it leaks. Bad product. Never again.
