Battery that lasts
I made the mistake last year of getting a spare battery that was not a Canon battery but was said to be the equivalent and much cheaper. It may have been the same size and shape, but that was as equivalent as it got. I put it in the camera and it lasted less than an hour with the camera being switched off between shots. Last month I got this one to go with me on a trip to France where I didn't want to run out of battery during the day - I had this new one and the original Canon one. I tried out the new one but took the other one just in case. I need not have bothered - this one lasted the whole trip and I took loads of video and still shots. Never skimp - always stick to the proper tools for a good job.

We all should carry a spare battery
As I was going to be away for a month, I thought a spare battery would perhaps come in handy. It turned out that it was essential. When I had a couple of full days and forgot to charge the original battery I didn't need to worry, I had the spare with me in case it ran out.I took over 1500 photos in Canada and Alaska and my camera never let me down. The battery was the exact one that came with my Canon camera originally and it performed with the usual reliability.I advise everyone to get a spare when they are going somewhere special.I paid a fair price for a top quality battery.Very pleased!

Genuine battery but slightly slower delivery
I purchased this battery as spare for my Powershot SX220.The price was extremely competitive and I had been keeping an eye on this particular battery, for a number of weeks, and the price seemed to change daily! It came with original Canon packaging and markings on the battery so appears to be genuine. It has charged in the same time and has worked perfectly since. Only time will tell on its performance. My only slight gripe is that delivery took 5 days from being advised of dispatch (Royal Mail 2nd class recorded delivery) and I was charged just under 30% of the cost of the battery for p&p, although it came within the huge time frame allowed by Tech Traders!! Usually Amazon's standard delivery is free and comes within 1/3 days after dispatch. Why the high cost for slower delivery service?

Good spare battery
I bought this as a spare battery for my Canon IXUS 860 IS. It is exactly the same battery that the camera comes with and works just as well - in fact I have now forgotten which battery is which! It removes all problems of your battery running out in the middle of the day. Small and portable, it comes with a cap to protect the terminals. I guess the only improvement would be a little bag or container to keep it in, but this is not a real problem for me.

Not the cheapest but the most reliable
Runs a good 20 - 30 shots longer than any of my other batteries, but the price reflects the superior quality. Depends what you want really. If you are taking valuable keepsake pictures - this is the one that will do the most work before falling over.If you are just taking general (replaceable type) shots, ore are near a charger most of the time, perhaps you would get away with a cheaper make. I bought both, and found with bot starting from full, I would get around 25 more shots with this battery, than with the other one. (Yer pays yer money........)

B uying advice
I purchased this item as a spare for my camera CanonSX220HS. As it was a spare I did not really use it until December 2012. I have now found that it will not hold its charge - it will take a dozen images then close the camera. The supplier will not take it back because more than 30 days have elapsed since the purchase. This is probably fair however £31 pounds is quite expensive for a 30 day cover. My advice is that, if you purchase, you should use the battery as your main camera battery straight away to ensure that it is not faulty. Furthermore the battery does not have the same detail written on the it as the Canon battery supplied with the camera. It is probably fine to purchase as long as you prove the battery serviceable straight away.I have now purchased a battery from Maplin's for £12 and have used it for 2 weeks and it is fine. It also has a 2 year guarantee so you are covered for a longer period.

Canon NB-5L Battery Pack
this is the third Canon battery I have purchased for my wife's Ixus 850 they only seem to last about 18 months before they stop recharging so a bit disappointed especially as my old Nikon Coolpix 5200 has still got the original battery that came with the camera,I do use my camera more than my wife however.I bought genuine Canon batteries as I was told they were the only way to go but I am not sure I will stick with these I might try cheaper alternatives instead.

Canon rechargeable battery
Having bought a non-Canon rechargeable battery, when I bought my camera, I was very surprised to see how quickly it needed to be recharged, compared with the Canon battery supplied with the camera. This Canon NB-5L was more expensive, but it holds the charge for much longer, and has been worth the expense. It was a waste of money buying a cheap version that was so unreliable - defeated the whole purpose of having a spare battery.
