contains synthetic folic acid per the label - NOT for MTHFR !!
It is estimated that OVER 70% of the population carries at least one of the at risk alleles of the two common MTHFR genes - C677T or A1298C. Those of us who carry even one of these alleles should AVOID anything that contains Folic Acid (SYNTHETIC!) and focus on real folate instead. Unfortunately this product label lists FOLIC ACID which is SYNTHETIC!MTHFR complications include autism, depression, anxiety, weight issues, thyroid issues, neural tube defects, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, lupus, MS, autoimmune issues and a long list of at least 100 other issues - just google MTHFR for more information. So until Herbalife reformulates with REAL FOLATE then I can in no way recommend this product. It's a shame, I really hoped to love this nutritional shake, but it isn't worth risking my life with more blood clots (yes, that's another risk associated with consuming synthetic folic acid!) to continue using this shake.
