Creative Omni Portable Wireless Multi-Room Speaker - Black

Really disappointed with this. We have a small speaker which works very well and thought this would be a nice treat as well as an upgrade. It comes with a mini USB charging cable and and an instruction leaflet that requires a magnifying glass in order to read the instructions. Itsmall black and made of a plastic type material. It did seem to take a full morning to charge.We find that it will play music from our phone and we talked to siri. When my daughter in law came she played music from an sd card. Sound quality was good. Perhaps we just dont understand the workings of this but really have with relief gone back to our small cheap speaker which we like much better. Perhaps too much technology for us13th Dec.I have edited this review because my son has taken it and his verdict is that it is epic and the sound is awesome. we obviously did not understand the technology

Sound wise, this speaker is extremely good at producing the midranges and high ranges. Sounds crisp and clear. Sadly, the bass (and low end) suffers tremendously; there's barely any thump on bass heavy songs. Even when compared to similar-sized speakers (e.g. UE's speaker that my friend owns) it is extremely lackluster in the low end. Since my songs are all bass-heavy songs (R&B, electronic, etc) a lack of "thump" ia extremely noticeable and makes this speaker disappointing.Regardless, it has an extremely good midrange and top range. If your music consists of those two, then I'll definitely find it nice!

This Creative Omni Speaker is really a very mixed bag aimed at a market that is already a little crowded with better products. On the plus side the connectivity is fairly good and the Omni features Spotify Connect - but a Spotify Premium subscription required to use it - and Apple Airplay; both features need a Wi-Fi connection. To connect the Omni with your router you will need to download the Sound Blaster InterConnect Smartphone app from Creative (I used the iOS version) – setup is fairly straightforward but it took a couple of tries to get it to connect to my BT Hub 6. Once connected Spotify and Airplay worked well – but after powering off, the Omni would sometimes re-pair with the hub OK on power up again, other times it needed to be reconnected via the app – all a bit iffy. Another online service advertised for the Omni is iHeart Radio – however this is a US service that is not available (easily) in the UK; however I use the TuneIn service on my iPhone and play via Airplay. The Omni also features a memory card slot – not tried – and an Aux input via a 3.5mm jack socket, however Creative have saved a few pennies by not supplying a suitable interconnect audio cable. You do get a USB charging cable supplied (no charger), plus a basic instruction manual written in tiny print – the Bluetooth connection works well and the box the Omni comes in is rather nice!The Omni is similar in size to the first generation Amazon Echo, but benefits from being rechargeable – unlike the Echo. The Omni can be used vertically standing up, like a beer can, which gives a 360 degree sound, or on it's side for a better stereo effect. When standing up the Omni tilts at an angle which I don't really like, and on it's side it rests on four rubber pads – one of mine was missing which is rather poor at this price band. The sound comes from two 3 Watt stereo channels powering a pair of 1.5" Neodymium drivers, plus a dual passive radiator setup for improving the bass response. The sound is not bad for the size of the unit but the Omni is not really ideal for forming a complete multi-room system in the style of Sonos. The voice-enabled assistant is either via Siri or Google's equivalent – Omni does not have it's own version built-in!At the current price of around one hundred and ten pounds from Amazon Creative's new Omni speaker seems a bit over-priced for what it offers. I like and use the Airplay and Spotify features but you obviously need to be in range of your Wi-Fi to use them – the Omni is really designed to be portable so will often be out of range. Bluetooth works well but there are many good Bluetooth speakers at half this price or less if you just need a portable speaker to use outdoors. At half it's current price I would give Creative's Omni an easy five stars and recommend it - but pitched at the current price band I don't know who the market for it is. I have struggled to give the Omni even three stars at the current price and it is difficult to know who might consider buying it – impossible to recommend to most potential users.

This is a Portable speaker. I've been using it to play songs from both my Ipod and kindle. The actual set up to get it to play wireless is dead simple and once charged it does seem to play music for ages. My 1 issue is the actual sound quality isn't that great. It's ok but I've got other Wireless speakers around the house and they just sound better, though I paid more for them. I suppose it's your choice.

I have been using this Creative Omni for the past month and it has a lot to offer but some drawbacks.- Very good sound for its size, which can fill a room. Bass is also good thanks to the 'diaphragm' on the rear of the speaker. Unsurprisingly it is inferior to larger speakers but, for its size, I think it is excellent.- Setup was a bit of a pain. I first tried it with Wifi and the Soundblaster app, and got it connected after multiple attempts. However, you then have to use the app's music player, which isn't that great and crucially for me, doesn't support WMA files. So I instead just use Bluetooth, which allows me to use my own music app, and works fine.- Battery life is decent, at well over 5 hours, and takes a couple of hours to charge.- It has a microphone, which allows it to work with iPhone's Siri or Google Assistant. Note though that it just works through your phone, the functionality isn't built in.Overall, I think this is a good bluetooth speaker with portability and excellent sound, and Creative are an audio brand I have confidence in. Main drawbacks are the mildly annoying setup process and the relatively high price.

I have a selection of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi speakers in the house from small JAM speakers and up to a Bose Soundwave. This is a reasonably compact speaker with some good features. I haven't any interest in the subscription streaming services as I prefer to buy and rip my own music. The Bluetooth and wifi connected up first time with no issue, playing via Bluetooth through my mobile the sound is loud, clear and well balanced. the controls are pretty self explanatory and I had no need to refer to the instructions. The most important thing is the sound, this is very good and very well balanced through high end to bass, some tend to be bass heavy but this is what I would expect from Creative as I have been using their kit since they made SoundBlaster cards for you PC. for sound its is on par with the Wonderboom speaker and similarly priced.

Al precio que se vende es un auténtico chollo. Muy completo y buen sonido, lo de Google Noe regular, pero no es determinante. Muy buena idea disponer de micro SD y Jack 3,5 mm. Pero falló la conexión wifi al cabo de 10 días y no había manera de realizar conexión, algo debía estar mal y tuve que devolverlo. Una pena, pero a pesar de todo excelente producto para su precio, creo que no hay nada igual en el mercado en una marca de prestigio.

spotify connect ne fonctionne pas. Le support creative me dit qu'ils doivent tester un correctif. C'est pas sérieux.
