A god send when your throat hurts

Whether or not you appreciate these pastilles will hinge pretty much entirely on how much you like cloves. On first tasting I found a slight citrusy tang, a certain sweetness, but over all the rest was a very strong flavour that came through immediately; this seemed strange in what were billed as orange-flavoured pastilles, but on checking the ingredients list sure enough there it is. Impressively, assuming the ingredients list follows the usual standard of most-first (although it seems a little inconsistent on this), the clove oil in what is presumably quite a small amount overwhelms the flavour of both peppermint oil and menthol, showing how powerful it must be. Of course once you are used to the flavour (which actually blends together well with the other ingredients although always with the clove foremost) these are actually very pleasant, and they are certainly effective as throat sweets (and not at all overly expensive for the type); so much so that I have since ordered another couple of packs.

These lozenges are really nice to take and are great value too

These are very effective at easing sore throats - I found a single pastille eased it for a few hours. The pastille has a very slight orange flavour, but this is overwhelmed by the menthol - which also oddly has a slightly herby note to it. I prefer these to the bigger brand throat pastilles - they are only slightly cheaper though and more expensive than the usual 'own brand' alternatives.

The main ingredients is sugar. The least thing you need when you have a sore throat. I think it only makes you feel worse.
