Spun Wall mount bolts due to missing "Wall Mount Adapters" on this TV. THEY ARE REQUIRED!!!!!
OK. I have a problem with this TV.It was shipped to me as factory re certified.I got it, set it up, then attempted to install the wall mounts on it. I quickly became puzzled because there was no parts. I read the manual several (a LOT) times over. I found an illustration of wall mount that showed a "wall mount adapter". In the text almost directly above the illustration I found the following text in the manual "(Wall mount kit not supplied)". <Parentheses in the book. This started my disaster.I surmised that I did not need a wall mount adapter since I was unable to find any wall mount adapter in the "factory re-certified" and obviously Factory packed TV. It had all packaging from the factory, even though the accessories seemed to be... Not too much. No batterys for the remote, that kind of thing. In any event, I went and purchased the 8X45mm bolts required in the manual. I then verified they would screw into the holes in the unit. I then again. looked to see if I could find anything like the "Wall Mount Adapter" mentioned in the manual, but eventually gave up as there simply were NO "Wall Mount Adapters" in the box. I figured if it was required, it would be there. Right?WRONG. They are required and I know because I installed my wall mount kit onto the back of the TV, using the M8X45mm bolts. As I screwed them in the bottom bolts tightened up OK. But the top ones tightened up and left about 1/4 inch gap between the bracket and the back of the TV. I thought. Hm.... That is odd. Why do they bottom out way before they tighten up on the case? They are guaranteed to be correct length. They must just have a nut with a locking ring on it to keep it from unscrewing and dropping the TV on the floor. WRONG AGAIN. The bolts go into a cup shaped bolt and when they bottom out, they are DONE. Nothing more. But since I had no idea about the missing "Wall Mount Adapter".. (thinking they were part of the "Wall mount kit not supplied" that the manual refered to.. I kept trying. Eventually, the nut inside the tv (on the metal frame) started spinning, and I then had a bolt, that would freely spin in either direction, but could not be removed, or tightened enough to work.I judge this disaster as 3 way split on responsibility.1. Samsung did not do a good job on the manual. They were NOT CLEAR that the wall mount adapters were REQUIRED and to NOT ATTEMPT to install the wall mount bracket if you did NOT GET the wall mount adapters in the box (as happened to me)2. Samsung Factory Re-certified was improperly repackaged to miss the REQUIRED wall mount adapters. Due to #1 above, it was not clear that this was the case. The only way I found out (nothing on the internet sorry to say) was I called Samsung and told them the wall mount adapters were not in my box and they acknowledged that they were SUPPOSED TO BE INCLUDED and sent me the parts. (to late for me I am afraid)3. I should have refrained from putting too much pressure on the bolt. I only used a 3/8 inch ratchet and did not turn it that hard, but it was hard enough to spin the nut crimped to the frame. In order to let you know the results of this tragedy, I had to spin the bolt with the attached nut out with a combination of an electric hand inpact and applying steady force to pull it out. As the bolt spun it heated up and started to pull out. As the nut got to the plastic it melted from the friction heat and enlarge the hole large enough to remove from the TV.This will allow me to remove the back of the tv (since the warranty is obviously shot now) and I will attempt to install some kind of aftermarket crimp nut to that hole. I may have to disassemble much of the TV to do this but I have no choice. I suspect 1 or 2 of the other crimp bolts holding the wall mount bracket have also "spun" in position so they are also suspect to hold this large and heavy tv up on the wall. What kind of company makes someone do major repair on a brand new (recertified) TV? Samsung is the one.I can not set it on a cabinet cause I have no cabinet. For now it's on the floor and the huge wall mount adapter I have is mounted on the wall. No way am I going to leave it on the floor or buy a cabinet to hold it up. The entire thing just pisses me off and I was depressed all day yesterday.

Spend little more dont buy refurbished unless it's in the original box , even than.
I've owned samsung for awhile now, refurbished i never tried and I will never after receiving this TV in a box for a 80" TV. I was just going to send it back without opening it, I decided to take a chance, lol, bad decision. After connecting it, turning it on, first the remote wouldnt work. Closer look at the screen I noticed the scratch on the side ok I can live with that, closer look on the screen the big scratch right in the middle of screen where there was a big gash and RIP on the box. Some credit should go to delivery service they are using. The poor box went through hell.

Very good value
The tv did not disappoint. 4k sets tend to be at the mercy of the input, so picture quality might not always be the same. But when everything lines up, it’s terrific. My item came via FedEx and in good shape. As a refurbished item, this came with two minor dings.

Buyer Beware!
I know as a refurb it wouldn’t be perfect, but this was a replacement for another refurb that arrived smashed in several places. This one was cracked at the top & the display constantly jumped. Obviously these are more headaches than deals!
