Great knife
Like many of the TOPS knives, this one is a solid gem. I only buy their knives that come with a sheath other than their ballistic nylon, which I despise with a passion. Great knives deserve a quality sheath. When they come with a junk sheath that has a lot of rattling and movement, it makes you feel the knife came incomplete. A knife is only good if you can carry it securely and safely. The blade is a perfect size although I wouldn’t batton wood with it, although you could if you had or wanted to. The jimping is a bit aggressive, I’d have preferred it to be a little tighter but the knife feels good in my hand. The sheath it comes with is a pouch style leather sheath, it would have been nice if it came with a snap to make it more secure, but it fits snug and I don’t see it falling out unless you’re sprinting with it. All in all this is a great small/medium camp knife.

Tops Texas Creek
I own several Tops knives now, and the quality is great at a reasonable price point. I have several big knives, but wanted a shorter bladed knife for fishing and around the camp. While the blade is shorter (they make a longer bladed version), this knife is sturdy and tough! It’s razor sharp blade is thick and up to most tasks. The sheath is a nice leather that matches my western style gunbelt just right and holds the knife securely. It’s perfect for what I wanted. You can’t go wrong with Tops.

The Tex Creek is Your Camping Friend
The Tops Knives Tex Creek is the perfect size knife to take to the woods or camping. Love mine. Very multi-use knife, not a one-function tool. I've feather-sticked, notched, sliced, carved, done food prep and even battened wood. It's a must at our camps. The handle fits my hand perfectly, as the blade almost becomes an extension of you. The jimping on top perfect for your thumb during detailed work. Very handy knife. Well made by Tops, as are all of their products I've seen and used. I will say it's a bit tough to strike a ferro rod on the spine with the smoothness and the swedge toward the tip and the jumping taking up a lot of space, that that's no problem since I usually have a lot of fire-starting sources besides my blade. Even so, the knife feels amazing good in your hand during long periods of use. All around great size and feel with high quality build.

This is a great example of the latest generation of TOPS knives
This is a great example of the latest generation of TOPS knives, extending their expertise and quality from the tactical arena to more everyday use models for guys like me who will never jump from a plane or likely grapple with an enemy soldier. This is a beautifully finished mid-sized knife that has a well-designed handle that is big enough to get all four fingers fully on, for maximum leverage. Sort of a classic blade design with a saber grind, but the new Black River Wash coating is smoother than many powder coats (less friction), and gives the knife a hand-finished look. It's a great size for many daily chores, as well as a hiking/camping companion that shouldn't intimidate anybody. The pouch style sheath is a good weight, and has a clever little retention nub in the leather that holds the knife surprisingly securely without really impeding the draw. Very functional knife that's a joy to use and another tribute to TOPS quality.

I have man hands I wear XL gloves , the knife fits me perfectly
The TEX creek knife is of the best of quality, I have knives of every price point and this holds up to the best that I have. I just want to add that I admire the fact that the staff is mostly military. ( support the military personnel) I have looked at many knives for hiking and when I seen this one I just felt like it was the one. I looked for a while after putting this one in the cart , I thought I’m just going to order it after checking out TOPS knifes. If you are interested just haven’t heard much about TOPS knives go for it you will not be disappointed. This is now my go to. I see more TOPS knives in my future.

Great knife, could be incredible.
I have wanted this knife for a while and was pretty excited to finally get it. I was a little disappointed though when I finally did. This was not my first Tops knives, so I knew to expect quality. It was razor sharp right out of the box! Built solid as a rock, and I love the blade profile.However...I find the handle to be a little on the narrow side. I can live with that, but I really do not like that the screws used on the handle stick out farther than the handle scales. I feel this is a no brainer that nobody wants to feel the screw heads while gripping the knife. Also I was pretty disappointed with the dark river wash they use on the blade. As I have read from others as well, it did not look at all like they show it. It just looks solid grey. It looks good, but the contrasting grey they show it to have looks way better.Lastly is the sheath. If you like leather with a deep sitting knife than you will love it. I’m not a fan of how deep the knife sits in the sheath; you cannot get a quick and easy draw on it since about half of the handle is covered by leather. I bought this to try using as a fixed blade EDC; I would really have liked a horizontal carry option on the sheath. That’s just me though.I do like this knife a lot, and I am glad I bought it and would recommend it for sure. But if a couple things were different I would absolutely LOVE this knife. Also Amazon put the package on my neighbor’s door where the address is very visible, and they put it at the front door when I specifically requested for this to be put around at my back door. So great job there.UPDATE: After having the knife a very short amount of time, the coating started flaking off. Not even with heavy use; just from exposure to being handled is all. Long story short is TOPS took it, coated it in their standard coating and it has held up like a champ. So sucky that it had to be done, but props for doing it over and doing it right.
