Great toilet
I bought this when some error was made and they were listed for £12 for a very short time, was expecting the order to be cancelled but it was delivered. It uses a euro box and is a very compact composting toilet, simple but ingenious. Can’t quite see £160 worth of materials/design but then again all the other composting toilets are much more expensive than this one. I have used it on a few trips now and use compostable recycling bin bags and a sawdust/coffee grounds mix in the solids container for the covering and it works astonishingly well, none of the smell you’d expect from a toilet just sawdust and emptying is an absolute doddle.Having now used it I probably would pay full price as it operates exactly the same as other compostable toilets but is the cheapest one available. I’m 15 stone and it feels solid when I sit on it.

Love love love!
Been on the road with it couple of trips already, it's light weight but solid, easy to use and clean. I use coffee ground and coco peat, totally covered any smells (it will smell right after you've done your business cause it is still in the air!)I read reviews complained about getting rid of the fluid because of the flat top. Just pour some water in and sway left and right, it will be cleared out.

Expensive but works well.
I had this for a few months before using it. It was bought for my VW T5 van. I do a lot of long distance driving, with the occasional overnight stop-over in the van. This is invaluable if there is no toilets readily available or if it's pouring with rain outside. It's also much easier to empty than a chemical toilet (used one for years, and this is better). Also it doesn't smell. This looks very small but actually works great and it's small size is a benefit in a small van. I was pleasantly surprised at the toilets capacity and how sturdy it is. Be careful not to pee too fast as it can't cope with a fast heavy flow and will overflow into the solids bin defeating the whole object of a composting loo. This happened the first use but has not been a problem since as I'm now more careful. I like to wipe the diverter with tissue after each use or flush with a small amount of water. The red plug (purchased separately) is essential if travelling without emptying the toilet first. The recess that is for lifting the seat is useless, you end up lifting it by the separator which is unhygienic, but the recess is a handy slot to rest the red plug in when the toilet is in use. I am planning on attaching a small string to the underside of the seat at the front and have it hanging outside so as to aid lifting the seat. This, along with the cost of the unit and plug is why it only has 4 stars, otherwise it would have got the full 5.

Boxio toilet, great
Love this, fitted perfect in my microcamper. Being small it will tilt if you're a side wiper. The separator section could do with a better groove/ handle/ button to lift it up with. The wee bottle smelled a little after using a few times overnight but a bit of vinegar in the bottle sorted that. The poo tub didn't smell at all. Overall I like it, but it is expensive. I wish the sink set-up wasn't so very expensive.

Very Good
This is a great item. Forget using a smelly chemical toilet, this is the way to go! Water and waste are kept separate so there is no smell. For solids line the back compartment with a bag then sprinkle with hemp to absorb any smell. It’s in my small camper and will be stopping there. There is only one downside, it’s not comfortable to sit on for long. This is a very good compact item

Beware of the unmentioned customs charge
This is a tiny and pointless plastic box, cheap looking and further insult was the £46:50 customs charge that I refused to pay seeing as the actual item is too expensive for what it is anyway £169 + £15 delivery + £46 customs - no thank you

Value
My Boxio arrived. Although I like it I was a little surprised about how basic the whole thing is for the cost. It is basically a black plastic box with x2 containers with lids and a urine separater. I was going to make one but thought I would treat myself. I am not convinced it is value for money. Only time will tell.

The best composting toilet I've ever seen
Amazon were fast and efficient as usualThe Boxio toilet was simple to assemble, with tools provided, only ten minutes. The best composting toile I've even seen.Getting extra parts has not been simple. Amazon didn't have the other parts so went to the Boxio website. There is no UK agent or importer. Sadly their website and their customer service emails are well below the standard of their product.

Better than anticipated
Having lived with this beast for a bit, I thought I would write a review and maybe clear up some of the questionable information I'm seeing on the web regarding the Boxio unit.As an intro, we're live-aboards. We have lived on one or another vessel for going on ten years now, and we love it. We have always used a composting toilet, a DIY one that I came up with, (instructions on an Amazon pamphlet Here: https://www.amazon.com/Floating-Empire-composting-toilet-book-ebook/dp/B07P8JLF1J/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=don+elwell&sr=8-3) Unfortunately, on our new boat the design wasn't working well. For various reasons, it was hard to dump and clean. We were looking for another option (that we could afford) and the Boxio unit came available on Amazon, so we thought we'd give it a shot.Construction: The unit is small, compact, and quite stoutly built. Think (if you're an American) milk carton construction. The urine diverter is similarly solid, rather thicker plastic than I'd be led to expect. The internal containers for waste and urine are likewise molded plastic and are adequately solid.Assembly: is pretty simple. The unit came well packed, and all that is needed to assemble it is to screw in four post-and-screw assemblies on the four courners (a hex wrench and washer for use as a flat blade is provided) and to use an included cord to lace on the lid as a hinge. I had initially some questions about the strength of these little posts, but once installed, they seem quite solid.Use: The urine container keeps all odors away from your living quarters. We were at first concerned about the size, but the thing is obviously larger than it appears. We wind up dumping it on a daily basis, but it's usually only about half full. The solid waste container uses biodegradable liners (as an option. It would, of course, work fine without.) Dumping the waste us a matter of gathering up the sides of the little bag and twisting it to close. Very, very effective. The hemp biomass (provided with this kit) works well and can be used sparingly. We have, for years, used wood stove pellets as biomass (they're cheap and tidy) and have not attempted to use those in this particular application, but I see no reason why they, or coir, or sawdust wouldn't work just as well. The lid does an admirable job of keeping smells contained and flies out of the unit. I like that it fits snugly.Things we like: No odor at all, easy empty, compact design that simply blends into the environment when not in use.Things we dont particularly like:It's really low. We ordered the raised base, which should ameliorate that, but talk about a squatti potti. . .on the other hand it would fit easily on a small boat or in a cabin or van. There's a little detent in the seat/urine diverter at the front which is apparently intended to facilitate opening it, but there's really no way to get traction with it. I still wind up sticking my fingers where I'd rather not to open and dump the thing. As many have pointed out, the only way to empty the urine container is to unscrew the seal in the center and dump it out. While it has a handy carrying handle, the handle is in the way of the urine when you turn it over to dump it, and it's very nearly impossible to get every last drop of the pee out of the bottle. A side drain (and some folks have drilled one) on the top would fix this, or moving the handle to the edge.On the whole, though: This is a nice, compact, well thought out alternative to either a bucket or to the $1000 composting toilets available on the market. We're happy we bought it and it is, at least so far, working well for us.Don aboard the shantyboat "Dragonfly".

Macht jeden Bulli Familientauglich.
