I already have a Tyndale standard Bible that a relative gave me donkeys years ago but wanted something written in modern English (it's American but that's ok) and something with BIG text so I can read it comfortable, because with age my sight isn't as good as it once was. I have no problem reading this Bible which is great.The cover is very pretty, not quite sure what that's made of, I'd guess card with some kind of plastic coating and the sage green zipper fabric is stitched around the edges of the cover, the zip itself is quite strong. It will be ideal for travelling and a nice compact size to pop in a suitcase or bag. There's room to put tabs on the pages, which I've done as I get fed up fumbling around looking for a particular verse or book, but the tabs need to be the 'mini' type. It really is a lovely Bible. The text/print is mainly in black apart from the words spoken by Jesus which is in red. I'm not sure why they do this, but I guess it makes it easier for some people. There's also a free app you can download to your phone which you don't have to get and I haven't. Which allows you to check certain phrases, dates, events etc for more information on them. But you really don't need to get the app to be able to use this Bible, it just gives you the option to go into more depth, I suppose for studying.The only thing I'm not keen on is that when open it's difficult to hold due to the zip and it won't lay flat for the same reason. Maybe that's me being fussy but I guess there's no way they could alter that unless the cover was separate to the book more like a zipped sleeve. So that's something to consider, I don't think I'd buy another compact zipped Bible mainly for that reason, awkward to hold and won't lie flat. I'd probably go for the slimline compact if I ever decide to get another Bible.

I go to a KJV church but like to have other versions to read and so far this is my favourite translation. Very good and love how you can scan with your phone to read more and go into detail. Highly recommend.

I love it, it's protected and easy to carry around without damaging it. I love this version too.

Lovely case .

I've just received my new Bible and I love it. It's a little bigger than I expected, but it'll go in the bag I usually use for Church, which is what I wanted it for primarily. I wanted a large print, so if I forgot my glasses, I could still read it - and I can read it without my glasses, which is great.

This is a lovely Bible. The text size is nice and not huge, but large enough and clear. And it is in a lovely cover to take to church. I am really pleased.
