It will work for a guitar, but keyboard amps generally give good definition of a wider range of tones that are not necessarily required for an electric guitar. That's why an entry level keyboard amp usually costs more than an entry level guitar amp.

Q: When you use the line out to a mixer, does it mute the amp?

No. Can still be used as a stage monitor.
