Works perfect for Vixia Camera
I use it because then I do not have carry the charger with me. Works great with a 3A USB charger

Cable works, though it's a proprietary cash-grab
Most inexpensive webcams are not that great, especially in these COVID19 times. I figured, why not repurpose my barely-used Canon Vixia HF R600? I did, but the need to swap out batteries is kind of annoying. I figured i'd just plug in a mini-USB cable. Imagine my surprise to find that the camera's mini-USB port does NOT in fact supply power... it's just for data transfer. There's a SEPARATE, odd-looking input on the camera for power... AND IT REQUIRES A SPECIAL PLUG! So I had to buy a separate $10 cable!Clearly this port and cable is simply another lame cash-grab by Canon. Let's be honest, there is nothing so special or unique about this videocamera, that necessitates a SEPARATE power port AND a separate plug style. It'd have been FAR more consumer-friendly to just have the port be a standard mini- or even micro-USB, like literally every other consumer gadget out there. Some companies never learn.Anyway... I got this cable (2 days shipping thanks for Amazon Prime), plugged the standard end into a free USB port on the back of my desktop PC, plugged the proprietary "cash-grab" end into my video-camera, and it all works. My camera can now stay on, without needing the batteries changed, for as long as my video-conferences last. I can put my batteries away, and save them for when I am out in the field.

Long cord, super convenient
The battery on my cannon hf r600 died wouldn't hold a charge. And a new battery was like $20 anyway I'd thought I'd get this and just plug it in to a battery bank and get 10x the battery life. And the cords long enough I can just put the battery bank in my pocket and the plugs are nice and snug. Anyone else with the H 600 it will charge the battery with this. I know some of the other HF models don't charge through this cord.

4 stars for the lies
This cable will charge your camcorder but the part about having a special chip inside that somehow protects your camera is crap. My ohm meter tells me that it is a simple adapter cable that connects USB power directly to the camera. I would have given 5 stars but for the B. S. Build quality is acceptable and it works.

Better than buying extra batteries.
I have a Canon vixia hf r600 and the battery that came with it can barely last 1 hour. I was going to buy a spare battery and came across this cable doing an internet search. This is so worth it!! I have 3 USB power banks that I carry around so that I can charge the kids Ipads and our Iphones. Now I can use the power banks for the camera as well. I don't know how long the power banks will last when I actually start using the camera to record videos but this is exactly what I needed. I'll provide an update if things don't turn out well .

Just what I needed
Product came fast and as described. The length is great, I don't have to have the camera in precarious positions because the cord is too short. Haven't used it with a portable charging pack yet, but I can't imagine why there would be any issues. Just make sure that when you plug this USB into a brick to plug it into a wall, the brick has a decent output.
