Course book for middle English courses
This is a recommended text for a course which I haven't yet started, Will provide a review when I have completed the course but it does seem to be a excellent text.

pretentious drivel - shockingly bad.
The worst kind of modern academic work on literature contains the following features: banality of thought combined with conformity to the latest theoretical nonsense; inability to express the simplest idea in clear English; pretentiousness; and disguising mediocrity of thought and argumentation in obscure terminology. This volume has all these features aplenty. As a bonus, (and a typical sign of the times) CUP has not chosen to pay for a copy editor and the resulting book has well over a hundred serious typos (often the insertion of stray extra words.) Editor Scanlon ought to lose his academic post for this outrage.
