Great Buy!
Product fits make and model truck in description. This was a fraction of the price of a parts store. Saved about $200 buying this through Amazon. Works as it should, check engine light did not come back on after resetting on truck.

Cheaply Made, 4 WEEKS - one slat is already broken
UPDATE: August 26th 2024 (exactly 6 months after installed) - This Dorman radiator shutter assembly stopped working and throwing the same code. DO NOT BUY.After just 3-4 weeks getting it installed and drove about 300 miles, one of the top slat is already broken (not broken off but the slat can be moved with your hand). I looked through Amazon for seller information to contact them but can't find anything. SO BASICALLY, YOU ONLY HAVE 30 DAYS WARRANTY FROM AMAZON. No warranty from seller at all.I'm breaking down the number so you can make the decision:1. DYI: 4-6 hours to install if you know what you're doing - if not, you might end up breaking the upper bumper cover, which cost about $250-$400 + cost to paint2. Mechanic: I got estimates from 4 shops and they're varied from 4.3 - 4.8 hours of labor and $95 to $140 per hour. So, average 4.5 hours times $120 is $540. My mechanic charged me $450.3. "Stealer" quoted me $487.60 + tax for part and 4.38 hours of labor at $195/hour and shop supplies, ect..... TOTAL $1,457.74.........BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE ABOVE (1) or (2) OR you can get the OEM part from the "stealer" and choose either (1) or (2).From what I've just experienced, I would get the OEM part instead of THIS AFTERMARKET JUNK. So Dorman, if you stand behind your product - please list your warranty contact information.

An exercise in wasting money!
A BOUGHT LESSON:Mechanic installed and within 48 hours the engine check light came back on registering the same shutter code. Turns out if you do not replace with a GMC OEM part or AC Delco part the code will remain, even if the aftermarket shutter replacement is working correctly. If you are experiencing the transmission overheating or operating with high temperature readings above 217 degree — replace the thermal bypass valve; PPE. This $80 valve will save you from having to replace one of the most expensive part on your truck, your transmission. It’s an easy install sitting on the outside of the transmission. Check online install vids. 2018 Silverado Z71.

Great quality
I was getting a code for this item and installed it. It did work after running the truck and driving it around for about 15-20 minutes. I would recommend you going to Autozone so they can erase the code and then restarting the vehicle with the code deleted. It will let the vehicles computer know it's fixed. I have not had any issues so far. The item was packaged with care assuring it makes it safe to your home. I recommend this item.

Do not buy aftermarket, buy GM OEM shutters!
Have a 2018 Silverado 1500 5.3. My factory active grill shutter was throwing the check engine light at approximately 175,000 miles(I drive a lot). I have used Dorman products before without any issues and figured this would be a good replacement instead of buying the OEM for nearly $200 more. After installing this aftermarket Dorman shutter, it threw the check engine light just over one month later when it was past the window of being able to return it. I checked the wiring, LIN bus voltage, etc., and all checked out. I figured it was a bad actuator motor on this particular shutter assembly and ended up buying another aftermarket shutter with a different brand name. Although, the Dorman shutters and the other brand I bought looked identical so probably came from the same parts factory. The second shutters also threw the check engine light after a month or so. After researching YouTube videos, etc. many said you must go to the GM OEM to fix the issue because the aftermarket actuator motors do not last or communicate with the computer as well. I ended up buying the GM OEM and they have been working perfectly fine. You can even tell that the GM actuator motor is a different quality than the aftermarket motors. After spending over $450 for the cheap aftermarket shutters and forking out another $350 for the OEM, this was an expensive lesson to not go cheap with any electrical parts. My advice is to spend the extra money for the GM OEM active grille shutters in the first place to resolve this common issue with many GM vehicles.

2ND TRY IS THE CHARM OR...
I PREVIOUSLY AND PREMATURELY REVIEWED THIS. I HAVE NOW INSTALLED THE SECOND SHUTTER ASSEMBLY. AT ALMOST EXACTLY ONE WEEK FROM INSTALL, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT LITE ONCE AGAIN LIT UP AND THE CODE WAS THE SAME CODE IDENTIFYING THE SHUTTER ASSEMBLY. I SUSPECT, BECAUSE I GOT A CAR WASH THE DAY THE LIGHT RE-LIT, IT MAY HAVE BEEN WATER DISRUPTING CONNECTIONS. ACCORDINGLY, I HAVE RE-OPENED THE CONNECTIONS, DRIED THEM THOROUGHLY, ADDED ELECTRO-CONNECTION PREP, RESEALED AND RESET CODE. I AM NOW ANXIOUSLY WAITING TO SEE IF IT RETURNS.. I DID CHECK ALL THE CONNECTIONS ON MY TRUCKS WIRE HARNESS AND THEY HAVE PASSED EXHAUSTIVE PIN BY PIN TESTING. I WILL POST AGIAN WHEN I KNOW MORE.
