Total update - good product | awesome customer service
Final update: Apparently PUR responded to my initial email to customer service, but it never got to me. (Yes, I checked spam.) I emailed again, and this time I received their response. I sent them the information they requested, and today I got two replacement pitchers for the defective ones. A+. The original pitcher that arrived in working order I've been using, and it's great. I love that PUR pitchers are dishwasher safe, especially after melting my Brita not realizing that it wasn't. The PUR water tastes good, and I'm now a very happy customer. Thank you, PUR!Update: I did hear from the PUR customer service and am communicating with them. They are asking for a lot of information, but understandable, I suppose. 🙄 I'm giving them 2 stars from the original 1.I purchased two new PUR pitchers from Amazon. One came with a pre-broken lid, and I will be returning it. (All packaging was intact and undamaged, so must have been packaged that way from the factory.) One was fine. I ordered a replacement for the one with the broken lid, and the filter gauge does not work on that one. (Yes, I have pressed the reset button for 5+ seconds as instructed.)I contacted PUR customer service at the email they give on their website and have received no response. I'm returning all and purchasing from another brand.

Clean tasting water
Pur filter is by far the best. The redesign of the pitcher is nice. When water is not yet filtered down, with the new design, unfiltered water doesn’t spill out when I am pouring water. Unfiltered water would just pour out and the lid will come off before.

Spout popped off
It’s a great pitcher for filtering tap water, for sure 100%.4 stars because the spout that lifts up ever so gently, broke very quickly after falling off numerous times.Happy with the filter, disappointed with the design of the lid/spout.

VERY EFFICIENT WATER FILTER PITCHER
I am very satisfied with this PUR water filter pitcher. I also have a PUR faucet mounted filter that I filter water thru before I filter it thru my new PUR water filter pitcher. This PUR water pitcher filter is easy to install. You just insert it into the slot and twist it. It has a filter indicator light that turns red when it is time to change the filter. Before buying this water filter pitcher, I researched water filter tests on the websites of ewg.org and consumerlab.com. The ewg.org website tested water filter pitchers for only PFAs (so called forever chemicals). In the ewg.org test the PUR water filter removed 79% of PFAs. Two other water filters removed PFAs at a higher rate of 100%, but in the consumerlab.com tests one of these water filters removed microplastics at a rate of only 13% and the other filter added microplastics to the water at a rate of plus 271%. In this consumerlab.com test the PUR water filter reduced microplastics by 80%. So, since the PUR water filter pitcher was the only filter that had a high rate of removing both PFAS and micropastics in these two tests, I chose the PUR water filter pitcher. Also, in the consumerlab.com test the PUR water filter had a high rate of removing other contaminants such as lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, and chlorine when compared to the other filters. Also, some of the other filters were very hard to install and could leak water around the filters, whereas the PUR water filter was easy to install so it worked properly. If you want to purchase this filter on Amazon, I think that both ewg.org and consumerlab.com have a link to Amazon.com
