We love using this to burn designs onto wood! By using a Cricut template or a stencil of some sort, you apply the paste very thinly, and blow on it with a heat gun until it’s the darkness you desire! The tub is very tiny. You will probably be surprised when you open the package. It lasts a long time, though, as you only need a very thin layer. Scrape as much as you can off, and put it back in the tub for future use.One thing I will caution… If you are putting a poly over the top of your burned wood, you need to wipe off as much of the leftover paste as you can after you have burned your design and it has cooled. Otherwise it shows up as a milky white/yellow color during the poly process. Once the poly has dried completely, it usually dries clear, but don’t mess with it when it’s partially dry, or it may remove a part of your burned design.It’s fun, and easy to use, but there is a learning process. My 12 year old son used it for decorative cutting boards and coasters he sold in his Kids’ Business Fair booth, and he sold nearly everything with a burned design on it! Attached is a picture of the booth as we were setting it up, along with some pictures of items he sold in the process of being prepared and burned. He did not do all of the applying/burning, but he was very involved.

Love this brand!!! I’ve tried quite a few. This works awesome and price wise is affordable compared to most. It burns fairly fast . But controllable.

I love the gel, it works wonderfully, and it will last a long time so your money goes a long way! It's thick enough that it doesn't bleed, even on soft woods.

Years ago I used the marker type ink born pen and could not get consistency from it because of the bleed. I finally tossed them after having to scrap that last piece I had worked long and incredibly hard on to get prepared for the stencil and burn ink.Thought about using the pen again several days ago for simple detailing that bleed wouldn't ruin an entire piece. I saw the paste and how it was supposedly not as likely to bleed.I ordered it. I got it today. I applied it per instruction and I ended up with a puddled mess lol. 2 sheets of a4 paper is not real thick but its thicker than just a thin coating. I figured i had went too thick so I tried again using a foam paint Brush instead of a squeegee and that big white tail Buck was jumping off the plaque it turned out so nice. Its not perfect but I was able to sell items using the old marker style years ago so I'm hoping this will improve that aspect since it looks cleaner.Thank you developers for your efforts to improve the product. I think you have a winner with the paste.
