SWEETEST THING
gosh, i cannot fully express just how much i loved this book. it made my heart so full. i adored grace so much. i’ll admit i’ve never read anne of green gables but i have watched the netflix show and could draw some similarities.the ending was so bittersweet and broke my heart a little—it reminded me a bit of kiki’s delivery service. how kiki had to grow up and that growing up means to lose something (or someone).overall i enjoyed this book so much. who do i have to pay for a sequel because i would love to see more of them—grace and sareena, the other girls, even more rum and grace (side eye). they were so cute.

Amelia Bedelia became a witch and lived in Anne of green gables.
A delicious feel good story packed with emotion and beauty from the eyes of an orphan, navigating her life and loss. A gorgeous retelling of the classic Anne of Green Gables meets a Wiley witch who makes as many mistakes as Amelia Bedelia, and wins as many hearts in this story. I would recommend this book to anyone from the age 7 and up, although the language is a little denser for that younger age.

brought me to tears
Beautiful story. So we’ll written. 10/10 must read. Took me back to when I was a girl and helped me rekindle my love of wild things and the esoteric possibilities of our world. Such a lovely jewel of a book. Give yourself a treat and read The Grace of Wild Things.

A whimsical retelling of Anne of Green Gables.
I’ve been a fan of Anne of Green Gables since I was in middle school, and this year, I read Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries. So when I found out Heather Fawcett also had an Anne of Green Gables retelling, I knew I had to read it.What immediately drew me in was the descriptions in the book. L.M. Montgomery is very good at painting a picture of the setting of a book, and Heather did a great job in this book as well. It was easy to picture everything that Grace saw. Part of the way through reading, I unfortunately got into a reading slump, but this book helped me out of it with all of its nods to the original Anne of Green Gables. If you’ve read Anne of Green Gables before, you will recognize the scenes in this book that are based on the original scenes.I liked the characters, but I think that was my least favorite part of the book, although they were still okay. The plot is what kept me reading this book though. I would recommend this book if you like Anne of Green Gables and fairy tale like stories.

Good but not for me
I bought this book because I loved her other book- encyclopedia of faeries. Personally I don’t like the scary / mean witch trope. So it’s not for me, but it’s a fine book.
