Over all this product has work wonderfully! So my dog doesn't just scratch below the handle of the door, he scratches above it and at the door frame. This is the only product I found that covers both the door frame and above the door. It also slips on easily over the door handle, making it easy to take it on and off as needed. My only complaint was a very easy one to fix. When it is shipped, it is rolled up which causes the plastic to curl away from the door when you first put it on. It only comes with one tiny piece of velcro to secure it to the door which is not enough to make it lay flat against the door. The first time I used it my dog was able to pull the plastic off the door because of the curl and the one piece of velcro. This problem was easily fixed by securing the plastic with a couple additional velcro command strips so that the plastic would lay flat against the door. Since adding that it has worked wonderfully! Also, my dog scratch at the lock above the door in an attempt to get out. This product covers the lock, stopping him from damaging it and from getting it open!

I bought this product to protect my entry doors from the wrath and joy of my little rescue dog. When the doorbell rings, Max claws at the front door and jamb in a fury, trying to get to whoever dared to ring the bell. Also, when I return home through the garage, he claws at the laundry room door and trim in excitement. My wooden doors were originally stained a dark color, which hid the evidence of his scratching pretty well. However, I recently painted the doors white, and realized Max was likely to ruin the new paint if I didn't take some precautionary measures.I looked at several similar items on amazon, but the Clawguard seemed to offer the best protection to both the door and jamb. It is very easy to install by slipping it over the doorknob. I haven't used the Velcro stabilizer yet, since the paint needs 30 days to cure before sticking anything to the door. However, it is already having the desired effect. I hung it with the smooth side to the door, and Max doesn't like the sound or feel of his claws on the textured side. Even if they didn't bother him, the Clawguard is designed in such a way that he can't push or scratch it out of the way of either the door or jamb. Of course, I do need to point out that Max weighs only 15 pounds and doesn't have the physical force of a larger dog. But for my purposes, the Clawguard works very well and is doing exactly what I hoped it would: keeping my energetic boy from ruining the doors and trim.My front door opens inward, which makes it very easy to use the Clawguard. My laundry room door opens outward, which requires a bit of maneuvering to close the door behind me as I leave. However, the Clawguard is flexible enough to allow me to gently push it inward as I close the door. I used strong scissors to trim the upper corners, rounding them off a bit so they don't catch my clothes as I walk by.This product has certainly saved the appearance of my doors and trim. I'm pleased enough with the performance and durability of the Clawguard that I hope to purchase a third one soon to protect my back door after painting it. I would recommend this product to anyone having a problem with their dog scratching their doors and trim.

When I first received the product I did not think it was going to work and was afraid it was a wasted purchase. I did not expect to have good quality from the item at first glance, I am pleasantly surprised and happy to state that it works to protect my doors. I had just repainted the doors so it was very important that the two Rotts I have would not damage the external iron door or the inside wooden home door. The girls still try occassionally to scratch but no damage is done, my paint is intact and I am very happy with my purchase. Very inexpensive fix to solve a huge damaging problem. Glad I found you online and made the purchase. You hardly notice the product on the door, you have to be really looking to see it. I had worked and worked try to keep doors clean and paint intact. Now I am happy and my dogs do not get injured from the product in any way. You have a satisfied customer with this one. Wish I had found it sooner.
