An excellent way to bring your Android (and older iPhone) phones in to the MagSafe ecosystem
A high quality product, as always from Spigen. The magnetic force on this is stronger than the iPhone 15 Pro.Works well with all my MagSafe accessories now.The only hitch is the installation procedure for Pixel phones. If you follow the stencil to affix this ring, you may actually be offset to the actual wireless coil location on the phone, resulting in poor or NO wireless charging using MagSafe chargers.Recommend using teardown pics of your exact phone model to know where the coils are positioned and then stick the ring using the stencil. For my Pixel 7, I found that the coils are actually a few mm below the "G" logo. Also note that this ring works best when sticking it on on the phone directly or any of the advertised cases. It may not last on textured or other silicone cases. Use Spigen's suggested cases to be safe.

This Has Actual Magnets
I normally skip making reviews, but this is important. The differentiating thing about this vs its competition is that it has actual magnets. That means it's substantially more powerfully attracted to a magnetic array than a simple metallic ring. The alignment tool is actually VERY useful, but it's important that you know your use case. I'm NOT using wireless charging of any kind. I just want to use a magnetic mount in my car. I placed the ring where I wanted it, not according any specific alignment for my wireless charging coil. The tool made this VERY easy. For me, worked charging of a no go. It's too slow and is wasteful (heat loss). I use an Android phone in a case. I wanted an EXTERNAL (and thus stronger) attachment rather than a case with a beefy magnet because the case would be thicker than I'd like.I hope all that helps someone out there.

It works as and looks great.
The magnets work great. Not the strongest I've used, (Rokform) but really it's the perfect amount. I have an S23 and you can get it to stay on some metal objects. It snaps into position very well and actually holds on accessories and mounts. I love the look and feel of it.I did have problems with the installation. It's not very clear where to put the ring. I assume the very center, but on my S23 that's not even possible because of the camera lenses. I used a metric tape measure and just got it as close as possible to one of my cases that came with a MagSafe ring built in. It's probably because I used a textured case, and it recommends you don't use a textured case, but I had a hard time getting it to come off the installation plate. It could also be that the camera protruding keeps it from laying flush with the case. Once I got it on, it was holding very well with no issues. It would be nice if they told you the numbers to line it up on for each phone. Although using a USB insert with an alignment works better, it keeps the product from being up-to-date. I think Spigen's alignment tool is a happy medium. It wirelessly fast charges on my Anker charger. I haven't had it long enough to see if it gets hot, but it has on all my MagSafe cases, so I don't think that's a good way to gauge the alignment.Update: I've bought this multiple times for multiple cases. The first ones I bought the magnets were not as strong as the ones I bought later on. It's not a huge difference, but I can put the ones with the newer magnetic rings on my fridge and it doesn't slide down at all. Only the first two I bought slide down.

The alignment tool doesn't fit the pixel 8 pro phone or any Spigen-compatible case.
Update: Spigen support reached out and send me another one free of charge - but the alignment tool still sucks, and I still didn't get wireless charging to work. +1 star for the prompt customer service though for real. I added some pictures to show what NOT to do for Pixel 8 pro fit. (mine was too high - the wireless coils are likely about 2cm lower.) if you use the alignment tool, DO NOT TRUST THE CUTOUT. It went too high for me this time. Magnets are fine for accessories like the ring, or a wallet, but DOES NOT WORK FOR WIRELESS CHARGING.Original review. The installation "looks" straightforward, but the problem is that the measurement lines and the videos don't give you any real instruction on "where" the charging coils are.Anyway, long story short - I installed this, and while it works for non-charging accessories, I can't wirelessly charge my phone with it because it's slightly off center... It'll show as charging but never increase in battery percentage.Worse yet - there's no "redo". You'd have to throw the entire thing out and buy a new one. That being said, the good thing is that the magsafe accessories really do stick well. Definitely comparable to the magnetism on an iPhone.I tried installing this on the Spigen hybrid case, FWIW. Maybe someone else will have better luck with another case!
