Works Great!
The Tubing Straightener (also known as a Brake Line Straightener) is a useful tool designed for straightening curved or coiled copper, aluminum, and soft stainless steel tubing. It is specifically suited for tubing with diameters ranging from 3/16" to 1/2" and comes with 4-inch nylon vise jaws to securely hold the tubing while it's being straightened. Below is a detailed review of this tool, examining its features, performance, and overall value.Features:Versatility: The Tubing Straightener is designed to work with a variety of tubing materials, including copper, aluminum, and soft stainless steel. This makes it a highly versatile tool, suitable for use in automotive repair (especially brake lines), plumbing, HVAC, and other applications where tubing needs to be straightened. It accommodates tubing diameters from 3/16" to 1/2", which covers a wide range of commonly used tubing sizes.Durable Nylon Vise Jaws: The straightener comes equipped with 4-inch nylon vise jaws, which are designed to securely hold the tubing in place during the straightening process. The nylon material is gentle on the tubing, preventing any damage, scratching, or crushing that might occur with metal jaws. The vise jaws can grip the tubing firmly, allowing you to straighten it with precision and ease.Ergonomic and Easy to Use: The simple, ergonomic design of the tubing straightener makes it easy to use, even for beginners. To use the tool, simply feed the coiled or curved tubing into the straightener, and then use a wrench or a similar tool to rotate the mechanism. The smooth rollers inside the straightener apply consistent pressure to the tubing, gradually removing any curves or kinks. The tool is designed to be effective and user-friendly, making the straightening process more efficient.Precision Straightening: One of the key benefits of this tool is its ability to straighten tubing with a high level of precision. Whether you’re working with a few feet of tubing or longer lengths, the tool helps ensure that the tubing remains straight without compromising the integrity of the material. This is especially important when working with brake lines, where precision and integrity are critical.Compact and Lightweight: The tubing straightener is compact and lightweight, making it easy to handle and store. It doesn’t take up much space in the workshop, making it a practical tool for those who need it but have limited storage. Its compact design also allows for greater maneuverability in tight spaces when straightening tubing.Robust Construction: Made from high-quality materials, the tubing straightener is built to be durable and reliable. The tool is designed to last for long-term use, with sturdy construction that can handle a variety of tubing sizes and materials without losing effectiveness.Cost-Effective: For the level of precision and convenience it offers, the tubing straightener is an affordable option compared to professional straightening tools or sending your tubing to be professionally straightened. It provides great value, especially for DIY enthusiasts and small shops that need a reliable tool for occasional use.Pros:Versatile: Works with copper, aluminum, and soft stainless steel tubing, making it suitable for various applications.Accommodates multiple tubing sizes: Works with tubing diameters ranging from 3/16" to 1/2".Nylon Vise Jaws: The gentle nylon jaws prevent damage to the tubing, reducing the risk of scratches or crushing.Ergonomic Design: Easy to use, even for beginners, thanks to its simple, ergonomic construction.Precision: Ensures straight tubing with minimal effort and maximum accuracy, essential for critical applications like brake lines.Compact and Lightweight: Easy to store and handle, perfect for those with limited space.Durable Construction: Made from high-quality materials, ensuring long-lasting performance.Affordable: A cost-effective solution for those who need to straighten tubing without spending a lot of money on professional tools or services.Cons:Limited to Smaller Tubing Sizes: The tool is designed for tubing with diameters between 3/16" and 1/2", so it may not be suitable for larger tubing sizes. Users needing to straighten thicker tubes will need to look for a different tool. Not Ideal for Harder Metals: While it works well with soft materials like copper, aluminum, and soft stainless steel, it may not be effective for straightening harder metals or very thick-walled tubing. It is best for relatively thin, flexible tubing.Manual Operation: Although the tool is easy to use, it requires manual effort to straighten the tubing. It might not be the fastest option for professionals who need to straighten large amounts of tubing in a short time. Conclusion:The Tubing Straightener is a practical, reliable, and cost-effective tool for anyone working with coiled or curved tubing in the 3/16" to 1/2" diameter range. Its versatility, ease of use, and precision straightening capabilities make it an excellent choice for a variety of applications, from automotive repairs (such as brake lines) to plumbing and HVAC projects. The nylon vise jaws help protect the tubing from damage, and its compact design makes it easy to store when not in use. While it may not be suitable for larger or harder tubing, for most users dealing with common tubing materials and sizes, this straightener offers great value and performance. Whether you’re a DIY enthusiast or a small business owner, this tool provides a reliable solution for straightening tubing with minimal hassle and expense.

Works fine
I like the adjustability. You can straighten different diameter tubing. Feeding tube from a coil would be difficult but it is made easier when you can loosen the setting to get the process started, then clamp it down for final straightening. The frame is sturdy anf the wheels are ball bearing.

Less than perfect. Maybe acceptable
Tends to leave flats on straightened soft copper. Maybe octagonal or hexaganal. I can get it just as straight standing on the pipe on the ground and rolling it under my feet.It would be nice if it went to 5/8 tube.Maybe worth the money.

Best On Soft tubing
Unless you're using a soft alloy brake line, you'll probably be kicking yourself for spending this much money on a straightener that isn't real useful on steel, especially stainless steel. I found that the "old school" method of slowly uncoiling on a long work bench worked as well. If recommend replacing the rubber wheels with metal ones with grooves sufficiently precise as not to damaged the tubing. Overall, I was underwhelmed, but I'll keep it and adapt until I can get better results. I had had high hopes for this product.

Want flat tubing... buy this
Hey it looked like a good idea, but here is how it works. The soft jaws are useless. I have a 5 inch Craftsman vise. The soft jaws sort of magnetically attach to the vice, however they are too tall and when tighten the vice they roll over and won't hold the straightener. OK, so we throw them back in the case. Now for the straightener, the rollers are really 'V' shaped not round like your tubing. As you try to straighten your tube, it flattens the curve on the tube. Now you have a straight tube, but it's not round. This makes it impossible to build AN type fittings as the collar won't go on the tubing. Seriously, you are better off just straightening the coiled tube by hand. On a bright note, my co-workers got a good laugh watching me destroy some copper tubing. Walk away from this one.
