These are golden needle mushrooms, with excellent flavour.
I don't normally leave a review, but as this produce only got one star thought I'd chip in and say that's very unfair. I've bought them before, they've an excellent flavour. I soak them in boiled from kettle, and then rinse before popping in the blender. They are excellent in soups and sauces and have a lovely rich umami flavour.

Chinese at home.
Great and soaking leaves a tasty stock.

NOT SHITTAKE MUSHROOM
These aren't shittake mushrooms and are incorrectly named. Probably included the name to drive sales

Ummmmm - what was sent??
Having purchased and used dried mushrooms before from UK supermarkets, I expected a pack of food grade, dried mushrooms with clear instructions and nutritional information.I received a huge back of dried "twigs" and misshapen bits of organic material, that might have been mushrooms, seaweed or something quite different. There was oriental script all over the back of the clear plastic bag, and minimal recognisable text to show what the product was, the origin or how to use it. Looking at the product, I was not confident this was food grade or safe to eat and after a trial to rehydrate some of the "twigs", I still didn't recognise the product, but did identify it appeared to have "mud" attached to the base of the stems - at this point I threw the whole bag out.If you have confidence in using products from abroad, and knowledge of fungi, then this would represent a good value buy for the volume in the pack - but this was one step too far into the unknown for this home chef!

Just be aware these aren't shiitake...
I'm going to try using these as Google says tea tree mushrooms are very similar to shiitake mushrooms but I wanted to let anyone else know that the product name is misleading.

Yuck
Just no! Too strange and chewing for every but no flavour. Nope. Dogs are them
