4Pk Citric Acid, Natural Appliance Descaler, 250g

We had a loo that just wouldn't flush properly.All manner of chemicals, drain snakes, drain rods from the outside access point...we tried it all - nothing worked.A plumber told us that it was limescale deep in the pipes, and that we'd need to pay for cameras to confirm where the limescale was, etc...And I asked my husband if we could give the citric acid a try first.OH, MY.Two treatments with the citric acid...and NO MORE TROUBLE.What we did:Put half the box of CA in the loo bowl. Poured over two BOILING kettles of water and stirred vigorously with toilet brush. Left overnight (did not flush).In the morning, we stirred again and flushed.Progress!We repeated the process on night number two.After the second treatment, the loo flushed normally.YAY! So much money saved. :)

This is a good product for keeping sink plug holes clean, I use it fairly regularly to prevent any build up of gunge or odours. I would advise using protective gloves when using it if you have sensitive skin. I usually buy a large bag however these smaller packs are useful for easier storage. Good value for money. My order was delivered quickly and came in recyclable wrapping.

I’m trying to reduce the amount of harsh chemicals and throw away plastic. Citric acid is a great alternative to cleaning the toilet and flushing through the waste pipes. The product itself works great, just as you expect. The only thing that disappointed was that the packaging, they were wrapped in cellophane plastic…. Hoping that can be changed!

Use it for cleaning , good item

Simple product that has so many uses for cleaning around home. No need for expensive cleaning products. Use for descaling or mix up and use like white vinegar. Great to put in loo as limescale remover , coffee makers , kettles etc .

It used to be excellent for descaling everything - lately not as good

Environmentally-friendly way to clean a kettle. Recommended quantity of third of a packet not enough in my experience. Kettle can be cleaned effectively when almost full of water and half a pack used. Not happy that delivery was nearly a week late.
