Weldtite British Made Case Hardened Ball Bearings

Been using for a few months and zero issues. Exactly what was expected.

Buying a whole tub of bearings makes much more sense than the individual small packs as for only a couple of pounds more you should have a supply for years. These are excellent quality and this size is ideal for most rear bike wheels

The 750 pcs 5/32” packaging didn’t specify the Grade, but who cares for bike headset or cup & cone hubs? These are not exactly precision applications, the balls do not need to be within a few microns of one another for cycle bearings. Most ball bearings are “case hardened”, allowing the core to retain elasticity under load.Higher precision balls will not last any longer, the hardness is the same, cleanliness & good lubrication are more important. A good tip: remove your bike fork and cut a 1” length of old inner tube to protect the bottom headset bearings after you’ve serviced them, makes a big difference on MTB’s without mudguards, or your Winter commuter.Nice to buy a British Product -or is it?

Tub of 750. If you are renovating, fixing or performing maintenance on your bike, as you should, you will want to buy these. You can purchase less for less but next time around you will have to buy some more. Do yourself a favour and purchase a lifetimes supply. Weldtite is in Hull and, perhaps due to lack of search skills, when I could not find 1/16 on Amazon I called them direct and spoke to an amazingly helpful person, 'waves', who directed me to one of their wholesalers, Cycle Division. They were extremely helpful as well. In some respects I may have 'broke the house rules'. but big thanks for the service. Salvaged Rusty Bike. My spinner is now smooth, My back axle is now smooth, My pedals are now smooth. The bottom crank and headset will, sometime, be joining the smooth brigade.

So I was completely believing I was buying 1000 ball bearings as that is what the photo suggests. When 200 turned up you can say I felt rather cheated! Why would the main photo clearly state 1000 ball bearings when you only get 200? Not happy!

Why spend a sizable chunk of cash having your bike wheel bearings serviced when you can do it easily yourself. I commute on my road bike all year round and so the wheel bearings take a fair amount of stick, especially through the winter. I therefore ensure I service the cup and cone bearings on an annual basis, all you need are some cone spanners, plenty of cleaning cloths to clean the cup, good grease (I use Park Tools PPL-1) and 1/4" bearings.Its always very satisfying when you get your wheel spinning as smooth as silk again.

What can one write about 5/32 ball bearings? The item arrived promptly and is good value for money. Enough ball bearings for the d-i-y cycle enthusiast to use for years before needing to buy another pack.
