I bought this storage chest based on very few reviews. But VASAGLE chests in general were getting good ratings, so why not? I can begin by saying I’m VERY happy with this chest. The box itself is large and heavy (45”x21”, 17.1 kg / 37.7 lbs, as stated on the box). However, the sections of the chest were very well packed and also well marked with small, letter-based stickers for assembly. (Only one tiny corner of the base section was damaged during packing/shipping, and this was inconsequential to the looks and functionality.) The chest came with all of the required hardware including a few extra parts, and the directions were very easy to follow. I found the main screw holes well made and aligned perfectly. (Yea!, since I did NOT want to have to repack this box and send it back.) One bit of advice: use your own tools if you have them; the ones supplied in such products usually fail on practicality. That said, I did have to drill out a few small holes for the hinge screws (not a big deal). Three hours, two sore forearms, and one slightly pinched finger later I had the thing completely assembled. The only significant gripe I have about this VASAGLE chest are the spring hinges for the lid; they don’t retract enough to let the lid rest on the frame unless you add some weight on top of the lid itself. (The spring hinges might improve over time, or I might just remove them altogether.) I would give this product a 4.5 Stars rating, but unfortunately I can’t select just half a star (lol). So I’ll rate this 5 Stars, especially considering that I got this model on sale, and hope folks understand that there might be a few very minor issues with an otherwise great looking and very handy storage chest. (This chest is sometimes referred to as a “Shoe Bench”. Not sure why. It’s a storage chest. But a rose by any other name … )

The bench is well made and the directions were super easy. They gave extras of everything, which was really nice. Great value and quality…super happy with purchase.

Took about an hour to put together and I like the color I chose as well as it is very rich looking. Nothing cheap about this piece…very sturdy. Highly recommend!

It was easy to assemble - I recommend having a drill with a hexagon screw head to make things faster as the tool provided will take long - but is not necessary - you could old school it with a Phillip's screwdriver. The instructions were spot on, and I got it built in about 30 mins. The chest looks great. I use it to hold bbq supplies outside on my patio, and it has enough room for two large bags of charcoal and other supplies.

Purchased the VASAGLE Storage Chest, and honestly, for our post-Christmas clutter. With the influx of toys my girls received over the holidays, we were in desperate need of extra storage space, and this chest has delivered beautifully. What initially drew me to it was the range of colors available. It was a breeze to find one that blended seamlessly with their room's aesthetic, making it not just a storage solution but a stylish to it.The chest itself is pretty solid and roomy, offering ample space for a good chunk of toys, and possibly, it could double as a shoe bench, which adds to its versatility. The safety hinges on the lid are a thoughtful touch, ensuring that little fingers don’t get caught, which gives me peace of mind.Putting it together was straightforward, and it is sturdy enough to withstand the daily wear and tear of family life. Overall, I’m really pleased with the purchase. It’s made our post-holiday cleanup a lot easier.

The sturdiness of the pieces along with the double hinges and the soft close, but also can keep itself open without my toddler, having to try to wiggle his way in. Easy to put together And is the right amount of storage for a boy with too many toys.

If I had noticed that an Allen Wrench was provided from the beginning, but mixed in with some of the screws/pieces, this entire project would have been a 'piece of cake'. Because it comes with a very nice Phillips Head, I couldn't figure out why it didn't fit any of the large screws provided. The Allen Wrench would be used for most of the project, so please find that first. The chest is beautiful, once built, and instructions are drawn out pretty nicely, otherwise. I love it!

This item is well packaged as all parts are protected. No parts missing. The instructions are quite clear and are well sized, one cannot truly make a mistake. All parts are numbered and the hardware is individually wrapped. All the holes were perfectly aligned and the hardware (screws, plugs etc) were of high quality. The paint finish is also of very good quality. The hinges are very strong and permit a gradual lowering of the top cover. The design is quite fitting for any type of room. All sides and top are made of MDF, the bottom is made of Masonite and is thick enough to hold up children’s toys as it is intended for. As I am going to use it to keep my ecological logs for my fireplace (heavy compared to toys, teddy bears or blankets) I placed a few wood floor leftover planks below the unit to make sure the bottom board does not sag under the unintended weight. This a well made and well thought of piece of furniture so I highly recommend it.

Top and sides of box is sturdy and nice looking, but the bottom is made of a thin, weak, flimsy board that sags very quickly.

Easy to install, nice quality and colour is rich. Now no more shoes at the door. Love it.
