Great laptop, but needs a bigger disk. Here's how to upgrade it!
Well, what an amazing little laptop. I've been in or around IT for over 30 years and believe me this represents the best value I've ever seen. You need the Pentium with 4Gb to have a real Windows 10 laptop, i.e. one that will multitask and do Microsoft Office. People are reporting that the Celeron 2Gb model is working fine. I'm surprised, and maybe Windows 10 has now been tweaked for tablet sized devices. I'm a bit old school with PC/laptop specs and Windows. The main issue is the size of the disk, at 32Gb it is really too small for a comfortable Windows 10 experience, especially if you want to run Microsoft Office. Here's the procedure I used to upgrade the laptop SSD.1. Buy an M.2 2242 240Gb (don't get less than 128Gb) SSD to fit into the spare M.2 slot under the laptop [this will become your main drive, so choose carefully and spend wisely]. The SSD is faster and more stable than the removable microSD card, as it runs as an integrated disk rather than an add on card.2. Buy this and slot it into the machine 'before' you switch it on for the first time (should work if you slot it in later I guess, not fully sure how the Microsoft licensing works). When fitting, remove the plastic spacer where the screw is after removing the cover. I didn't know what was stopping the new SSD drive sitting down properly until the plastic spacer moved. And use a very small screwdriver for the cover screw.3. Then when you set up Windows for the first time, log into Windows using a Microsoft Account (to register the laptop as a 'licensed Windows 10 machine', including the new SSD).4. Do not try to upgrade Windows from the Spring 1703 (currently delivered version) to Fall 1709. [I tried to keep Windows on the 32Gb drive by moving the swap file, user directories and OneDrive to the new SSD. It upgraded to 1709 but my user profile corrupted. It's not worth the hassle. Just buy the bigger SSD and slot it in.]5. Download the Windows 10 OS software from Microsoft on to a USB stick (google how to do it). This is already at the Fall 1709 version.6. Plug in the Win10 USB stick and Restart. Press F7 during boot to get the boot menu and select the USB stick.7. Boot into the Win10 setup and choose 'INSTALL'. After a few screens you get the option of where to install. Choose the new SSD you installed (should be partition 1 or 2, depending if you formatted it. Look for the size, it should be over 200Gb if you installed an SSD of that size).8. Install Windows 10. Log into Windows using the Microsoft Account you used at 3 above. Bang, your laptop is now running off the new SSD with a licensed copy of Windows 10 (picks up the license from your previous install at 3 above). Install the other apps you need and continue your setup of Windows. Now you have a fully working laptop, without a compressed (CompactOS)/meagre drive. OneDrive also works well for me these days and I turn on 'Files on Demand' in Settings so that I only download files I need (since I usually have WiFi/internet). An Office365 subscription ups your OneDrive quota to 1Tb per user (that's good value). You will probably need another main PC to do your heavy work, unless you just use browser/email and light office work. But as an easy to use lightweight laptop, the iOTA Pentium is great. For this price, there is not a lot to complain at, other than the small SSD main drive. But if you add a new SSD as above, you have a great value lightweight/ultrabook laptop. I think the above upgrade should be part of the iOTA FAQ, it took me several hours to work it out myself.

Great potential, and will suit the needs of some people
This is a great little product for a very reasonable price. I’ll list the pros and then explain my reasoning behind the two star review.Pros:- It boots up quickly- It runs dead silently and doesn’t heat up- It looks great- It’s light enough to carry in one hand- It pretty much sets itself up- It will run everyday programs (mail, office, etc.) with no problem at allUnfortunately there are a few problems:- It absolutely will not work with an external CD/DVD drive (this laptop doesn’t have it’s own CD drive). I have one which works perfectly well with my previous laptop running the exact same version of windows. Other people have reported the same problem.- It really doesn’t play well with my printer, which now leads me to believe it has problems with the USB port(s).- The right-click function on the touchpad works intermittently. Maybe once in fifteen clicks. There are no markings on the touchpad to indicate where the ‘right-click’ should be, but i’m pretty tech savvy and it just doesn’t work the way it should. These are technical problems which would easily be solved by contacting the manufacturer (iOTA), but here’s the kicker…I’ve contacted them three times (once for each issue) and received no response. I ended up contacting amazon’s own technical support who tried to help me resolve the technical issues, but in the end we couldn’t get it fixed. After explaining to them that I received no response from iOTA, they recommended that I should just return the item for a full refund which I have done. This could easily have been a 5 star product, as a laptop that is more than suitable for everyday use, but the lack of technical support with what is obviously just a one-off faulty item has made me lose trust in the brand completely.

Super low quality - even for the price
The laptop doesn't work from the get go, which is explained in the comments. There appears to be a solution, just buying the recommended memory separately and then adding it. This is a complicated process requiring you to also own a usb big enough to download another windows into, then downloading it back into the laptop using the new memory that windows cant actually detect into you do this. If you don't the computer will hardly run and not be able to download all of the updates required as it literally does not have space, meaning there is no room to download anything else. Mine was unable to download the visual drivers, meaning opening any program resulted in constant black flashes making watching anything excruciating.Since adding the new memory and getting it too work unfortunately not much has changed. The computer is slow even just trying to browse the internet and often runs on 100% cpu, where screen glitches happen now in a new way. I have hardly used this thing finding my phone to be less frustrating but yet still i have some minor screen damage, it is dented inward slightly towards the top and there is an horizontal stain across the middle, a testament to its quality.I bought this after seeing it recommended on some big PC site, however i feel very confident they just wrote an article on what they believed it to be rather than having a physical copy. I highly advise buying from the bigger brands who's reputations are important and would never sell you a laptop you couldn't use after purchasing, and I regret not being able to see the stupidity of that as I opted for a flashy looking laptop.
