Good value
Ok so I agree it could do with some sanding as it’s very rough and ready in appearance however at its heart appears to be a fairly sturdy planter. The instructions were fairly clear and it came with the necessary screws. The weather isn’t good enough to risk planting anything out in it yet hence it’s empty state but I’m fairly pleased with it so far. The alternatives were all very expensive and frankly overpriced if all this one is lacking is a fancy name label and a spot of sanding.

Don't be put off by bad reviews!
Overall not as bad as some reviewers have said. It's true that the wood is rough sawn and not smooth planed as described but when comparing the price of this one to the veg trug what do you expect? Easy to assemble alone if you have only the minimum DIY skills. I can only assume the reviewers who said things don't match up have made a right pig's ear of putting it together! I have filled mine today and it is plenty sturdy enough. A good depth for growing root veg. I bought some weed membrane to line it first as there are holes in the bottom for soil to drop through. All in all for the money it's pretty good, although if you prefer to look at pretty, smooth wood, spend another eighty quid and get yourself a veg trug, but if you just want to grow things in a decent trough get this one.

Poor quality item
Ordered both the 1m and the 1.8m deep root planter at the same time. The smaller of the two arrived first and the quality of the item is disgusting for the money - the wood looked like a pallet box, rough and stained pieces of old wood that I could have cobbled together myself. After I spent a day sanding it and a day painting it and putting it against a wall in the shade I am just about ok with it being in my garden.Today the larger one arrived, the same problems as the smaller but this time the planter was damaged. The front panel was snapped so now I will be spending more time, effort and now money repairing this and making it acceptable to be in my garden. If I was not in isolation I would be returning this to the supplier.A word of advice - do not waste your money.

Very difficult assembly. Requires electric drill and two persons to assemblensure.
This product definitely needs two persons to assemble. The biggest problem is that the wood is not pre-drilled or even marked up. The bottom panel on mine was also bound so tightly that it warped, making it even more difficult to align the eight base screws properly in the wood.I think it should be withdrawn from Amazon until the manufacturers undertake to pack it more sensibly and of course to pre-drill all the necessary holes.

Absolutely loved it!!

awkward flatpack
they don't mention that it's a flatpack requiring your own set of tools and two people to assemble it. and for what it is, rather crude and not as substantial as the photograph, it's somewhat overpriced.

Very suitable
The planter is just what I needed for a bad back. Unfortunately the first delivery failed to give us instructions or screws. However Amazon and Forest sorted out a replacement. The wood is a bit rough, but cheaper than many others and right size

Nice planter
Easy to put together, plenty of space for growing, no more bending down which is nice.
