ACDelco GM Original Equipment 178-0795 Power Brake Booster Assembly

Great quality booster replacement. I replaced this on a 2005 Silverado 1500 in conjunction with a failed master cylinder that leaked inside the booster. The previous owner had allowed a lot of fluid to get inside, and GM updated the master cylinder for this chassis, so I wanted to go with a new booster to avoid issues, and the updated master cylinder.Fit and finish were as good as OE, much better than many remanned units that aren't even painted. Works well with GM/AC-Delco master cylinder 174-1169, 19209325. This was for brake option code JF7.There was a "core" charge that Amazon/AC Delco treats as a "rebate" for returning the old one, but was very specific on terms. Since this booster did not exactly match the old one, i just ended up scrapping the old one. It wasn't worth the possible $10 to take it to Fed-Ex for the free return shipping in my opinion.

The mounting screw and the push rod was broken when it was opened and also has been spray painted, box had been previously opened and taped back, unable to mount master cylinder to booster.

According to ACDelco's website this brake booster is the correct OEM part number for my 2005 Silverado LT 2x4 crew cab, however it shows incorrect fit on Amazon. The reason is you MUST install the updated master cylinder ACDelco 174-1169 otherwise it will not fit. Compare old design master cylinder ACDelco 18M2418 and you'll see how much shorter the new master cylinder plunger is.I replaced both and am very pleased with the result. The brake booster appears to have more solid internals than the original in my opinion.

It was sold as acdelco , but it was not an acdelco product according to my mechanic who installed it.
