Q: Are leather and nubuck the same? i bought a pair of cobb hill leather sandals i'm looking to treat

No, leather and nubuck are not the same. Leather is smoother than nubuck. Nubuck is a type of suede. I use the Collonil Waterstop for leather, and Collonil Suede & Nubuck for suede/nubuck.

Q: If this is a German product, why are the directions written in Asian?? Knockoff?

The product that I have, has the directions in English. This product is made in Germany, but I don't know if the one you are looking at was intended for another market (Asia). They are a world-wide shipper.

Q: Does this darken suede? I have a pair of taupe suede boots but I don't want to darken them, just waterproof them.

I used half a can on my taupe suede boots and half on my black boots, both new, spraying lightly four or five times. My taupe boots did not darken one bit. I would suggest you spray several times lightly without saturating the leather, which I think could possibly darken them. I don't know if it waterproofed them yet, I haven't worn them in the rain.
