Great pan, basket OK but needs redesign and safety leaflets should be included.
The pan was large and the lid had a notch so it can be put away with the frying basket in it. There was a helper handle on mine too. If you get this from bargain warehouse, for £17.49 Jan 2017, they took a week to ship the item and a day for the postage. I cancelled it and then they sent it so I got it the following day with 24 hr postage on the box, so get onto them, ask them if they have shipped it after a few days and then again! It seems like the royals use this manufacturer of pans so I am telling everyone that I cook my chips in the same fryer the royals use even though they may be using the manufacturers other pans and not this one. lol. The chip baket is too small on this pan, it tilts because it is not deep enough for the basket handle to go over the pan otherwise. It does really need to be redesigned, made at least 2 cm deeper or have the handle bent to go over the pan side whilst touching the bottom of the pan on all three legs. The basket could be straight down to go with the pan, I cannot see that the taper towards the base of it is of any use. If there were no taper, this would increase the amount of chips one can fit in. It would be nice to have a wire flap thing to hold the basket onto the pan above the oil. Maybe it could also be a tiny bit wider at the top, but not much. There were no warnings about not overfilling the pan with oils and I do think that inexperienced users may cause a fire if they overfill the pan. Some oils froth up and boil over if not used less than halfway up the pan and pan fires are a known hazard. There should be a leaflet about how full to fill the pan with oils, a chart to show how the various oils would rise, froth and react to heat & chips. There should also be a reminder to the less astute that once the chip basket filled with chips is put in, the oil will be displaced and rise up a lot higher. Some oils do froth up and rise up higher still, be careful about this. Instructions on putting a chip pan fire out should also be included. If a safety leaflet were to be supplied, we could have less accidents, less serious accidents and keep our great chip pans safe from the legislators. I use a lid over the chip pan in order to heat it up a bit faster but then finish heating it without a lid and actually cook without the lid. A lot of condensation would form on the lid otherwise which spits in the pan and it is more susceptible to overheating and boiling over. Oil boils considerable hotter than water does and it is very flammable.

Room for improvement on the basket.
The basket does not fit flat on the bottom of the pan& do is on an angle which means the chips do not get cooked at the same rate even after shaking the basket. This is due to the design of the basket handle.

Good purchase but basket a little too small for size of pan
Pan is deep enough but the basket inside is too small and it would be better if you could clip the basket on the pan so the chips can drain. Happy with purchase but will be looking for another basket.

pan ok, basket falls to bits
Pan is of good quality, and reasonably easy to clean, however the same cannot be said about the basket. within 1 week one of the bottom spacers dropped off, 2 weeks second...next the handle welds detached. What good is a chip pan with a basket with no handle ?

Basket to small
The pan is really good and fits my family size. The basket on the other hand is to small and sits on a sloop. So not able to use had to use my old one.

Get a bigger basket
Overall very good. The reason I didn’t give it a five star is the small basket, the pan is a really good size, but the basket is just to small for it.

Broken Basket
Over all the pan is good but the basket is really flimsy and broke the second we tried to use it the handle snapped off.
