works very nicely.
This USB case gave great speed with both an Orico 1TB and a Samsung gen3 2TB NVMe SSDs. And it's a value! There's another Orico case I tried -- Thunderbolt 4 supported and almost 10X the price of this one. True, this one is USB only. But that one, while it works as expected in Thunderbolt, if you force it to use USB 3 instead, its performance at best would be only 1/10 the speed of this USB NVMe enclosure. This one for USB is excellent.

This worked quite well
Arrived exactly on time and worked perfectly first time. The instructions were tiny, but legible and it was easy to work with. Plenty of speed and it doesn't get hot. It does get a little warm, but not hot.Great way to repurpose the SSD out of an old laptop before disposing of it. Keeps the data around in case you need it and later can serve as storage for other things. Recommended !!

ORICO Aluminum M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure.
It's a nice M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure.Tool free, uses rubber grommets instead of a screw.Orico provides two silicon grommets.Notice there are groves in the grommet to attach to the SSD then push down.Didn't figure that out until I put my glasses on. Duh...Big blue light when you plug it in. Could be good or bad for some...I don't mind it.Short cable, approximately 11" inches long. Take that into account depending on your setup.I've included some pictures if that helps anyone.Overall, it's pretty nice. I like it.I wouldn't carry it in my back pocket and sit down, it would probably break, but in a backpackIt should be fine if you're going mobile with it.The top, (darker blue part) is plastic. At first my computer didn't recognize it, so some might have to go to disk management.Initialize-format, that's it.The blue is nice too.Solid 4 stars, cable should have been longer, maybe 14 inches.Oh, It comes with a black aluminum heatsink and a 1mm thermal pad.

Very fast, well-made, portable
There's nothing not to like with this unit. It's all good. The drive stays in place with a rubber grommet, for easy swapping and access as opposed to using screws, and comes with a heatsink too. The aluminum case is solid and looks good. Transfer speeds are excellent. Great and affordable!

So fragile it broke right out of the package
This is a piece of plastic junk that can't even be disassembled without breaking. There are little plastic clips that hold a back plate onto the main compartment for the M.2 drive that broke immediately, rendering the whole thing completely useless. Do not buy this. Look at anything that requires tools because this toolless stuff is unusable.

Great NVME enclosure
It is so easy to swap the SSD when you are trying to either recover data or setup a recovery/diagnostic USB. I work in IT and since I picked one of these up I have started recommending them to the other techs and our procurement department. Especially when there has been an accidental damage or out of warranty failure, this comes in handy for quickly and easily pulling the SSD and recovering data quickly to a replacement computer. We use bitlocker to encrypt the drives on our computers and any time saving is always useful. So far, I have only run into one situation where the included heatsink for the drive was somewhat useful, but in general I don't use it.

Awesome enclosure!
I like the aluminum body of it, the enclosure comes with some thermal pads to help with the heat. I've had it for months and have nor run into any issues!

Works as it should but with poor heat dissipation
The motherboard of my main PC suddenly died. Yes, it’s the legendary brick-prone Lenovo Legion T5 series! I bought this NVMe enclosure to use it to read and transfer the contents of the drive from the brick PC. Functionality wise it does work as it should and allowed me to read and transfer all the files to another PC.The main concern for this enclosure is heat dissipation. The kit comes with a thermal pad and a heatsink. When you slide in the main enclosure body it effectively seals it hermetically. The problem is the heatsink does not make contact with the main body and without any air circulation, there’s no way to efficiently dissipate heat from the drive to the outside. You can always use it without the enclosure body but that also means exposing the NVMe drive out in the open and not to mention, the setup is somewhat ugly. If this enclosure was designed with better heat dissipation, or even vent holes added it would’ve been a five star product.
