Q: Is it safe to cook a turkey rubbed with butter and some som wine , in the oven?Will the butter not burn?

Not sure how the butter could burn in wine - but it rather depends on the temperature you cook at. This pot is good to cook anything that can be cooked though, so if it burns in this it would burn in anything!

Q: Can this be used in the oven

Absolutely, rest assured that this can (and should) be used in the oven. It is the most perfect receptical for starting a dish on the top of the hobb (whether gas, electric, or induction) and then finishing it off in the oven. yes, a mall medium chicken is fine, but not much room for other vegetable. I will go for 29cm for the soup. 27cm for just stew.
