Excellent little set consistant and efficient even at high amps.
Good product for the price, will happily run a 2.5/3.25 rod without issue ( annoying issue with a lot of cheaper stick sets being overheating/overloading/thermal cut out after laying down 2-3 rods then 15 minutes waiting for the set to cool down so you can carry on....very frustrating lol). No such dramas with this set it will happily run for a decent period of time to cover 99% of at home jobs and is pretty consistant in volt/amp delivery so no surging etc. All in all an excellent little welding set which runs perfectly fine with a 240v 16amp supply, ive had my set over a year and ive only managed to thermal cut out it once ( non stop running at max capacity with 3.25 mm 500mm long rods beefing up a 8mm garage door security plate cover it did 28 minutes before overheating and cut out to cool down for 15 minutes which is pretty damn good for what it is and the price) it also lays consistant beads and is very easy to use, i am a welder to trade and highly reccommend this set its excellent value for money the only thing i have changed on my set is i made longer leads with a stronger earth clamp and std screw turn rod holder but as it comes is perfectly fine i use it a lot at home hence the lead change.

Cheep but reliable
Well I haven’t used a welder for over 15 years and then it was a mig not a tig but didn’t take long to find the right setting for the rods.I have quite a few jobs I want to do with this welder and one of them is to repair a cast iron fire place wish me luck. One thing you must do throw away the mask that you get with it waste of time and plastic!Purchase some welding goggles well worth the investment! If you are new to welding or out of practice like me make sure you buy the right rods for the job.Buy in bulk say a pack of 50 and get diffident thickness as well. There not that expensive. That way you have plenty to experiment with before doing the job in mind. The welder itself is a nice light weight bit of kit an ideal welder for a beginner or an avid DIYer Or even on site agricultural gate repairs with a decent generator. It has no bells and whistles but does the job well

Good for DIY/casual work
First off, bin the included welding mask. I assume it's only added on legal advice as it's hopeless to use. Get a pair of the auto-darkening arc-welding goggles. The welder itself worked well enough for learning stick-welding. NB the included instructions are basic, you need to look at YouTube videos.I liked that the mains lead and the leads to the electrodes were all of a good length. I've been welding steel rods for plant support and didn't have any issues with duty-cycle or overheating.

Fantastic little beginners welder.
Great little welder. Never welded before so needed a machine that was easy to use and cheap (just in case I couldn't use it!) and this fits the bill perfectly. Very simple welder with Earth clamp, Welding electrode, Variable amperage dial, Basic mask and Welding hammer/brush. If you get into welding then invest in a better helmet and a decent pair of leather gauntlets (I used my pair from our wood stove 😁). No rods are included so don't forget to buy some. The thicker the rod the more power/heat they require to melt, this in turn effects the metal you're welding (thin rod for thin metal etc.) so do a little research and practice before you weld anything important.

does the job
does the job it was purchased for decent value for the priceearth lead is to short which brings the welder to close to your working areachipping hammer is a joke, an 8mm dowel on the other side of the compact wire brush, have my own so this did'nt matter to much welding glass is shade No.12 way to dark given a choice a No.10 would be much better.

good value welder
Never used a welder before, dont know if I am a natural ;) or just beginners luck but it worked a treat, spot weld or seam weld lovely continuous flow with 2.5 welding rod.Hammer is a bit of a toy, mask does the job even though it has a cheaply made feel but dont be put of this is a great wee welder for the money and will have paid for itself by the time next mot comes round ;-p leads are not that long as stated but didnt find this an issue.

Terrible
I read some on the reviews and most of them are positive I must have got a broken one because mine it works when it wants to

Great
Very pleased with this welder so far. Does what I want it to do. The one problem I have found with it is it does overheat sometimes but that tends to be during prolonged periods of welding at high temperatures. Given that the instructions say that it needs 9 minutes of rest for every one minute of welding, it is nowhere near that bad and I have no complaints. Would recommend.
