This bar code label was stuck over a date stamp 2023/01/09 合格; I panicked and wrote the seller, turns out this is not an expiration date (thank you!). Google translate can do pictures I discovered; top phrase is qualified/eligible which is similar to production. Find the Ingredient List 保质期 means Shelf Life. On my product it showed 12个月 which means it is good for 12 months from that production date stamped on top :) I made Chinese BBQ Chicken and this had great flavor and heat.

This brand is authentic and when I used it to make mapo tofu it tastes even better than restaurants. It is a little salty so don't try to use too many tbsp in one sitting. This brand is highly regarded by many Chinese chefs.

I bought this to make Ma Bao Tofu. It worked perfectly. I've used it in other stir fry dishes. It is not too hot but provides taste and a great flavor base.

I was a bit skeptical about it not having English written anywhere, however my worries were not valid as it helped me to create some of the best Mapo tofus at home!!!It has the right amount of heat and soy bean paste, and I will continue to use this brand!
