Quality switch with great options.
Installed one of these in my living room this weekend. I was replacing the 12 power hungry 50w halogen spotlights I have in the room with Philips LED MV 4.3-50W GU10 warm light. They work perfectly well with this dimmer. What I love about the dimmer is the fact you can program it to how you want the lights. There are 3 modes and each one performs differently. For me it was trailing edge mode 3 that was best. I then altered the amount that the bulbs dimmed down to virtual zero. No flickering whatsoever. Superb. The instruction leaflet to do this is a little bit vague to be honest but there is a great official YouTube video tutorial on how this is done.Just search 'varilight led dimmer instructions'.It's a great dimmer switch.

Excellent dimming control / Quality needs improvement
Like - Excellent dimming control with programming modes to improve brightness if the bulbs are not so compatible.Dislikes - plastic nuts behind the knobs instead of metal. Face plate metal is relatively thinner and poorly finished (not polished) around the edges. Price should be much less with this quality.Varilight - These two improvements would make a huge difference and therefore justify the price.

From Buzzing & Flickering To A Nice Glow
The media could not be loaded. I’m not an electrician, nor can afford one, so I thought I’d tackle this alone. I put up my beautiful new light but it was flickering & buzzing & after some research felt it was the dimmer switch. I did get both the lives mixed up which a tip for any novice like myself put tape round the L1 so can differentiate the circuit, once switched, works brilliantly. I’m so chuffed no buzzing or flashing, just a lovely light & switch.

Utter s***e
I installed Led lighting throughout my Mum's place and needed to replace her Lounge double dimmer switch with a trailing edge dimmer, this is what I bought and it's a BLOODY NIGHTMARE to use, mind you it looks nice.I contacted the supplier who sent out a new unit, which I had to pay for, so now I had two (until I returned the original) which was no better, then I had to wait for the refund which was sloooooooow in coming.I contacted the manufacturer who sent out a new unit with the latest software, once I had that I had to return the now secondary unit which I did. It too played up in so many different ways, the light jumps around and is not smooth in operation, if you tap the knobs lightly the light jumps around, sometimes it operates just like a switch with no dimming capability at all and often comes on at full brightness.I've had 3 units now and all 3 were the same, I've got a set of programming instructions also because the manufacturer sent them and asked me to reprogram the switches to suit the type of led bulbs in use, no difference. Now I'm going to buy something else because Mum who is 80+ can't understand how light switches could have become so damned complicated to use and I for one would like my money back.I am not going to tell you not to buy this product, as, by now you should be old enough to make your own decisions based upon what you have read, and I sincerely hope you are.

Dimmer works fine if you use the correct LED bulbs
There's been a few negative reviews for this dimmer but if used with the correct dimmable LED's it works perfectly. I have paired it with MiEco GU10 4W dimmable LED's without any issues. They dim fine with no flicker. Dimmer works out of the box with no reprogramming required and the build quality is fine. I did experiment with some different 12v MR16 dimmable bulbs but had loads of problems, basically all the transformers needed replacing but instead of doing that I bought a load of GU10 tails, disconnected the transformers and converted to 240v. I'll use the 12v bulbs elsewhere or sell them on eBay!Here's a link the bulbs I used: http://www.amazon.co.uk/MiEco®-GU10-LED-Bulb-Watt/dp/B00E3C6QOU/ref=sr_1_2?s=lighting&ie=UTF8&qid=1420134662&sr=1-2&keywords=mieco+gu10+led+dimmable

Solved Buzzing but has issues
Solved the buzzing I was getting from a standard dimmer, however there are a couple of issues.#1 There is a slight delay (~1 sec) when you switch on or adjust the dimmer#2 When you turn a different light on the same ring main (not a Varilight) you see a very noticeable change in the dimmer's setting to the point of going completely dark then returning to normal within a second.

Stylish and practical
Clean design, fitted with the Varilight dimmer switches that I have used previously with LED installations, The switches provide a number of control modes, so if you are unhappy with the intensity or range of light intensity it may be worth trying an alternative mode.Like all quality LED dimmer switches, these exhibit a short delay to on time, which can be disconcerting at first, but you soon become accustomed to it. For the benefits of LED lighting in terms of color and power consumption, this is a small price to pay to add the benefit of being able to dim them.LED lighting is the way forward - why wouldn't you buy these?

... reviews set my expectations but I was actually quite pleased with these
Maybe reading some of the reviews set my expectations but I was actually quite pleased with these. They look good when installed and I haven't got any complaints about the build quality. One things I noticed is when connected to halogens the dimmer trends to get warm to the touch, I assume that's normal. I'm also fairly certain that the leds aren't as bright as they were with my old dimmer and there is a noticeable lag in changing the level to the light actually reacting. Having said that the lights soft start in a pleasing way and there are a few configuration options that I haven't tried yet that may resolve some of my issues. Overall I am happy though and I would buy again
