Star Wars BB-8 App Enabled Droid with Force Band Bracelet by Sphero

Brilliant fun. Bought this for my 5 year old son for Christmas and he loves it. Not too difficult to control the bb8 with the force band or the app. You can tell it is a premium toy

Really really cool toy and we all love it. Brings out the kid in everyone. Really well made, good playability and loads of fun for everyone. Well recommended.

I have had my eye on a BB-8 by Sphero for about two years now and finally picked it up at a great price. It's worth noting that the particular version I bought (BB-8 with Force Band) is the battle-worn BB-8 but you wouldn't notice unless you looked closely. In short, it still looks great aesthetically and you could say that it gives BB-8 more character.There's multiple apps available to control BB-8 and some better than others so I'd recommend the Sphero BB-8 app specifically. It has the best set of features and the "watch with me" is particularly cute with BB-8 performing relative bleeps and movements depending on the point of the film you're at.BB-8 itself is very speedy which is both great fun but also has some downsides. The head tends to fall off fairly easily when it bangs into something and given you can send BB-8 out to explore the surrounding area within the app, don't be surprised for it to roll back out with its head missing on more than one occasion. The force band also takes a bit of getting used and makes it difficult for fine control. Again, you'll probably find your robot losing its head on multiple occasions.Overall, it makes for a great gift but I wonder how long it is until the novelty wears off. The "explore" feature is pretty simple and mostly trundles around banging into things and the slightly under-powered magnets for the head are my nagging concerns. Other than that, it was a lot of fun over the Christmas period.

I really enjoyed this with the hand controlled aspect as then it made it much more fun to play with!!!

Amazing toy for all family. Easy to use by my 7 years old who plays with it for hours packed up in a beautiful metallic case. A little bit expensive, but I recommend it.

I bought this for my son like 2 years ago and it still works perfect, would defiantly recommend!

Description intimates that will work with the app or watch, which led me to believe that can work with watch only as bought for child who does not have a phone. After unpacking found that it needs the app to set up otherwise it will not work. Luckily I was able to set it up, as my nephews mother owns a windows phone. Even so set up takes hours. Was only able to do a basic set up. I did not jave time to set up feature like voice control so my nephew has a partially set up toy.Description should have stated clearly that requires an app enabled phone. Had I known I would not have bought this
