Yes. They are,but the plastic lids from the bowls would not recommend to be put in the dishwasher.

No, i just use the lid and oven mitts as per usual with the pans. Steam gets out but I move out of the way of it.

If you are using a gas cooker, then perhaps the pot handles might get hot since with gas the heat pours over the sides of the pans. The frypan is longer handle so that won't be a problem of course. If like myself you are not using gas then there is no worry. I have been using mine every single day since i got them, and i cook loads and i have never once had hot handles on these pans, warm pot handles yes slightly, but never hot that i cannot touch them or hold them for long enough. I make my own cheese and fresh pasta and i make all kinds of desserts which means I use the pots for long durations. No need to worry, i think some people just have extremely thin skin or are exaggerating.
