brilliant piece of equipment
i purchased this item a while ago on the recomendation from my Polish friend that i needed a dryer to dry the wild mushrooms i gather from time to time. i had been looking for sometime before finding the Severin made one. the lack of tomer isnt really an issue since i do most of my drying from the early hours anyway and then i can keep an eye on it.. its a very light weight and easy to clean machine which is almost noiseless in the kitchen. it drys almost all items i have dried to date and those that it hadnt dried was truely down to user error!! i was in much of a rush i guess. It has dried all my crop of herbs this year and its still very workable. I will be drying some wild chestnuts i gathered locally (5kg's) and growing, so that i dont run out at christmas time. All in all a very worth while machine for the money and very efficient..

Better than the instructions suggest!
This product is absolutely satisfying me in every way as it seems to do most tasks in far less time than the instructions imply. I have done beef jerky in less than 5 hours and just about evry fruit you care to dry including kiwis', strawberries, pears, mangos', bannanas, grapes, apples, blueberries and probably more. You have to keep an eye on most but the grapes if whole can be left overnight. Amazing product and highly recommended. You would think I work for the company but I am unemployed so if they have a job shout.CheersAaron Tiernan

really pleased
This food dehydrator is very useful and good. It is large so there is plenty of room to make lots at once. It is simple to use and to clean and the fruit was dried rather nicely. The only drawback for me is the price, which I think is too much. For this price the delivery should be free.

Simple and effective
This is great addition to any kitchen, if you like drink mixes adding hydrated fruit to mixes, makes an amazing difference rather than fresh slices of fruit like lime, lemon, kiwi, . Banana chips are also fantastic. Only issue is that it does not come with a UK plug, but a European one.

Simple, but effective
This is a simple device without bells an whistles, but does an excellent job nonetheless. I've so far used it to dry potato, strawberries, pineapple, apple, kiwi, parsnip, carrot, tomato, courgette.Great if veg are starting to get a bit old, and you won't have time to eat them before they go off. Dehydrated veg is also great to cook with; you'll find that dried potato holds its form a lot better after drying, it won't disintegrate into mush if left cooking in stews.

so would expect better build quality
I have had this product for a while now and it basically works okay. I haven't overused it but still a couple of the trays have broken which has meant its capacity greatly reduced and not very practical any more. And it's not a particularly cheap model, so would expect better build quality.Any idea how I can replace these trays would be greatly appreciated.

Doing the job in simplicity and quality
One of my best shopping this year. Very reliable and simple. I mainly use it to dry forest mushrooms now in season. Very surprised by the simplicity and quality of drying

Excellent product - but needed plug adaptor
This is a German designed product made in Taiwan. It is basically a hairdryer for fruit, vegetables, herbs, chilli pods, meat etc. There is an on/off switch and no thermostat or timer. It has multiple trays and therefore a good amount of capacity. I would recommend it highly provided you can keep a watch over it so that it is not left running by mistake. As it is a 250 watt appliance it costs pennies to run for several hours. I have given it 4 stars because it arrived with a European 2 pin plug. It therefore needed an EU to UK plug adaptor. These are not expensive and it may be worthwhile ordering one to arrive at the same time.
