UPDATE 7/25/17: The longer we have this and the more we use it, the more we love this thing. We don't know how we got along without it. We're raising our review from four stars to five. We have nothing bad to say about it. We use it weekly and it does its job. We're truly impressed. It's simple. It's effective. It's easy to use. The only drawback we see is that sometimes the cord does get tangled, which is a small price to pay for an outstanding item. Have a swimming pool of considerable size? Want to keep it clean without a BIG hassle? May we suggest this robot pool cleaner? If not this one, another, but really every pool owner should invest in this kind of item, It really does put a big dent in keeping your pool clean and gives a sense of calm in doing so. We don't know how we lived without it over the years with other swimming pools. Best part aside from ease of use is that it works independently. It doesn't need the pool filter or pump to work it. It has its own power source. Basically a plug and play unit.We have a 26" round Coleman Above ground pool that holds just about 15,000 gallons. We have lots of trees, bugs and wind. Last year we couldn't keep up with things in the pool. Bought a manual pool vacuum, but not reliable or easy to use. That one needs the hose constantly in the water or you lose suction. Not to mention that all the debris goes into the filter. Despite use of chemicals, regular skimming and hand vacuuming, we had a big algae problem and don't want to deal with that again. Over the winter the pool turned into a swamp. We literally had to drain the pool, scrub the pool and refill. It took several days to do so. Not something we'd like to repeat any time soon.We broke down and decided to get a robot vacuum. After some careful research online at manufacturers websites and here, we decided on this one. This one works on all pools and the pool doesn't have to be exactly level. Ours is off by a few inches. What can I say? GREAT vacuum. Super easy to set up and use. Does exactly what it should in exactly the way they way it should. Take it out of the big box it comes in. Read the instruction manual. Bring the two large pieces out to your pool: the vacuum and power box. Put the robot cleaner in the pool. Plug the power cord into the power box, turn it on and presto. Watch this little bugger move. After two hours, exactly two hours it shuts itself off and stops running. I don't know how I lived without this thing. Only used it once so far. Haven't had a need to use it again and its been two weeks since initial use. It picked up leaves, dirt and bugs without any issue. Rinse off the filter and put back. VOILA! That's all there is to it. The vacuum has a 40 ft cord and shouldn't get wet. Only con I see is that when you pick this up to remove out of the pool, do it QUICKLY or everything comes back out of the vacuum.

very good cleaner and a time saver
I will no repeat the specifications that you can read above, except to say that this particular model is confusing as to whether it can be used in ground pool as well as an above ground pool. I have an in ground pool and it worked fine. It was able to climb up the wall quite a bit.I have a mango shape in ground pool, about 26 feet long, with a deep and a shallow end. I put the rover in the pool after I made sure the air was out (first dip in the pool upside down). It sank fine to the bottom, and yet felt light when you tugged on the power cord (make sure not to pull it out of the water by using the power cord). I turned on the external power supply/timer and was surprised to see it move fast on the pool's floor. The timer sets how long it travels in one direction before reversing again. You will have to fine tune this so that the rover cleans the whole pool. Make it too short, and you will find that the rover stays cleaning one area only (prefers to stay in the deep end). make it too long, and it will climb the pool wall (if the bottom of your pool is bowl shaped) then stay up for a while, but it may traverse the whole length of the pool. So you will have to find a happy compromise. It was 30 seconds for my pool. The cleaning cycle is fixed to two hours. I found that was good enough to clean the whole pool.I found that it cleans very well. If your pool floor is very dirty, one or two cleaning cycles (of two hours) might be all you can do before the filter needs washing. you will note that your rover is slower climbing from the deep end to the shallow end. you will have to pull the rover out the water to remove the filter and wash it if that happens. When you get the filter out, you will note how much it picks up, from the large leaf to small dust.I am very happy with it. I had it for a month, and there has not been a need for me to come out and do the clean up the old fashion way. There are some things to watch out for to make sure it lasts. I cant speak if it will last, but you need to read carefully the manual on the handling of the rover. There are three things that come to mind beyond the washing of the filter: first, handle the rover by the handles on the side when out out of the water. second, do not pull out of the water with the help of the power cord. and third, make sure to alternate the wheel direction pin so that not one side wears out.Other than that, here is wishing that it lasts.

it can't climb back out so it really isn't useful. So
Bought this to use in two pools, one an inground pool and one an above ground pool. I give it 5 stars for the above ground pool as it cleans very well. However, for the inground pool, I only give it 2 stars. It works well in the shallow end but once it gets into the deep end, it can't climb back out so it really isn't useful. So, if you have an above ground pool I'd recommend it but if you have an inground pool, I would go with something else.

We are very happy with this unit
Works really well. We are very happy with this unit. It crawls around doing it's own thing picking up most everything on the bottom of the pool.

So far so good!
We have only used this item 5 times so far, but everytime it has reminded us that it was a great purchase. It is easy to use, works, and is easy to clean up after. So much easier than doing it manually!
