The liquid detergent cup in my LG front-loader washer wasn't working correctly. At the end of the cycle, the cup would be left full of clean water. At other times, the rinse cycle would be full of suds, even though I had used only a small amount of HE detergent in the cup. At the last, the liquid detergent remained in the cup that had filled with water, and not emptied.A little on-line research turned up the answer. For the cup to work correctly, when it fills with water from the top a siphon effect is created that draws all the water (and detergent when present) into the machine. Something had happened to prevent the siphon effect from working. I could see this close-up by taking the cup to the sink, filling it with water, and watch it only partially drain. I was unable to see why the siphon had stopped working--perhaps some deterioration caused by the Boston water supply prevented the necessary vacuum from forming,In any case, the new cup works perfectly, and drains completely. Probably the cheapest appliance fix ever! I did find the part for less available from other sellers, but by the time I would have added shipping, the cost from Amazon Prime was about the same.

Fit in the washer easily and work well

Works great. This part in the washing machine works on a siphoning principle to get the detergent into the washer (water is put in the top during the washing cycle which starts the siphoning action). My original part (after about 9 years of working correctly) would be full of water after the washing cycle was completed; I don't know why it stopped working (no visible sign of a problem) - but it did. This replacement part fixed the problem. Another feature of the replacement part was the fill level indication; my original part only had a "Max" level indication - this replacement had both a "Max" and "Normal" level indication so you can just pour detergent from the bottle directly into it (rather than needing to pour into the measuring cap and then into this dispenser to get the correct amount).

Works as intended. 4 out of 5 stars due to the item being different as pictured. Bought it specifically for the fill levels and I only have the max line listed like the other pictures.

This is a replacement for the original LG washer part. At first it didn't work but after a couple of washes it is working as expected. I was very close to sending it back but I guess it took it's own sweet time to work. This would not have been fair had I returned this item without giving it a chance. It works and I'm happy. My basement is a little on the chilly side and so the detergent is cold and not very fluid . Good luck

I bought the liquid detergent container because my old one held water in it at the end of the wash so i always had to clean it to make it work right. This new one I bought is even worse, holding water every wash and having to pull it out and dump the water from it. Wish I kept my old one.

It was a perfect fit. I had a lot of detergent remaining in the original part after the wash cycle was finished and thought this would solve that problem. It didn't solve the problem but I then discovered that the issue was the detergent I was using. Tide he Sport Odor Defense is a thicker solution than regular Tide he. I mixed some water into the new Tide and ... problem solved. But this part still receives a high rating because it works perfectly as a replacement part.
