Bought to use the mirror effect sheets by peboWanted to have a go at a icon.Love the effect.I am sure you can get it to be full cover. But that wasn't what I was after. Did some on cards. That worked to . Will have to stop myself using it too much. Great fun

2 coats on ply before it takes
I had cut out this beautiful pattern on my scrollsaw and it had been sitting around for a while as I didn't know what to do with it. Untill I had bought some gold leaf and thought to myself I reckon that would look great in gold. Then I thought, how do you gold leaf things. I bet many people get to the same stage of doing this, having an item and having the leaf but not knowing how the two go together. Well I'm quite lucky really as my mother had gold leafed before, so I asked her and she told me to get gilding paste or size? So as you do, straight on Amazon what's this magical formula she's talking about and found this at a reasonable price, I didn't want to spend too much as I didn't know if I could do it or would like it. Well I put it on the ply I had and it just drank it instantly which made me chuckle as I thought I read it turned clear after a certain amount of time, so I put on a second coat and it stayed white ish for the allotted time it was meant to. Then I started to leaf, it went ok as you can see in the pictures, but what everyone neglected to say is that it goes EVERYWHERE. Oh it was in my little Shedshop, it was out in the garden, it was in the neighbours garden two doors down and we even had gold leafed paws on the silly cat that walked straight through it. Yep I learned my lesson, keep the doors shut and don't sneeze. I ended up laquering it with a car laquer so it has a very hard finish now, but I think I enjoyed it and this gilding paste was great. Thoroughly enjoyed.

A good buy
Foil stuck well to the middle of the size I applied, but had to re-dab the edges of the area to get foil to stick.Goes a long way for a little bottle, over-all a good buy.

Really pleased with this gold leaf paste works really well and dries perfectly clear..love Pebeo products !

Excellent adhesive
Perfect for applying silver leaf to my handpainted Christmas cards. Clean and easy to use. I found rubbing a little dish soap onto my brush prior to dipping into the adhesive meant it was easy to rinse off afterwards and meant my brush was not ruined.

Very runny so may not suit some items
Hmmm? Not sure about this yet. I've experimented on a few non-porous items and it is very runny so doesn't adhere that well. I'll try out some other test pieces on more porous material before committing to using it on anything expensive. Will update later.
