Great insert!
I thought it was leaking, but turns out it was just because the hinge was open. Works great. Unfortunately Zippo brand butane nozzles don't fit this, so probably find one with different nozzle attachments to refill it.

Good, but sketchy shipping
I just got this insert today, so I don’t have a long term review, but it worked nicely with a few test lights. However, I’m giving this 4 stars A). Because I haven’t used it long term. And B). Because it came already filled with butane. This is kinda nice, but I’m pretty sure that’s a big no no with the post office and I’d prefer it shipped where the product wouldn’t get damaged by expanding gas and heat (cause summer is hot) and I’d also like no one to get hurt if this thing exploded.

What am I doing wrong? UPDATE
This is the best I can get it to work. It only gets worse from here with butane fire balls spitting out. What am I doing wrong?UPDATE to my review,I am giving 5 stars for the seller. Without hesitation they sent me a new one without me asking. As I compared the new one (which works great out of the box) with the bad one. I could see a flaw with the original. The tiny (and I mean TINY) nozzle the butane/flame comes out was twisted and pointed the wrong direction. With the tip of a small screwdriver I was able to turn it in place.Looking at many of the reviews after I discovered mine was bad it kind of makes sense why a lot of people are having similar issues. Thunderbird needs to step up QC.Once again, the seller was GREAT!

good concept missed the mark
this is a true user review i just got my insert in the mail today the insert dues work how ever three are problems with the lighter insert the problems are a clear sine of there not being a quality control test of the product coming off there line the version of the insert i see there are 3 posable problems 1 is the gas tube is to short the spark to light the lighter is passing to far over the gas allowing it to disperse the 2 problem i see is the wheal could be set too far away throwing the spark to high not allowing the gas to light the last problem i see is the gas shot off its self not the cam the peace of metal used is placed so close to the wheal is is literally acting as a shield stopping the spark from traveling to the gas tube where is is located ALSO THE FLAME AJUSTER SCREW LEAKS THE GAS OUT TO IT NOT GOING TO HOLD THE GAS EVEN ITS CLOSED

Worked for 2 Months Leaking the Whole Time - Then Stopped Working Completely
This pipe lighter Zippo insert works when it worked. LOL Then after about a month it started to lose butane and as a result I started constantly filling it. Then it just stopped working even with full tank. It lasted for about 2 months. I liked it when it worked.

Worked great for about a week and a half…
This lighter was fantastic out of the box. It sparked and lit every single time. However, as I have continued to use it, it got to the point where the spark no longer ignites the gas, no matter how many times I try. The gas flows just fine, as I can light it by opening the lid and using a Bic to get it started, but why not just use the Bic at this point? I’m back to my classic Zippo pipe insert. I really liked the idea of using a butane torch like this, but with the unreliability issues similar to some of the other reviews I’m seeing, I can’t recommend this lighter to others. Step it up, Thunderbird, you have a great product here, but it’s just not reliable.

Works well in the wind
Perfect soft flame for a pipe and works outside in the wind. Works for cigars too.
