A Divine Symmetry An alternative journey through Hunky Dory

If you’re a huge Bowie fan then this is for you. If not and you’re more of a casual fan then I would stick with the original “Hunky Dory”. This album is made up of alternate versions of the tracks from that album. Having said that, this album is a nice pressing and the vinyl itself sounds great.

I wouldn't ever say this was essential but I do really like it. There are definite differences between this and Hunky Dory that make for really interesting listening but it is also a slightly cleaner and less busy mix that sits between the final product and the demo, albiet with obvious "finished" quality. The vinyl pressing itself is, at least in the case of my own copy, stellar. Clean, quiet and punchy and beautifully mixed. And at the price Amazon are selling this, a no brainer for those that like to go just a wee bit deeper on Bowie. Essential? No, as I said earlier. A pleasure to have? For sure.

I wouldn't recommend this as your first Hunky Dory, but if you know the original well it's fun to hear this version. The pressing was fine and the "new" versions sound excellent. Given that so many Bowie reissues sound mediocre it's nice to hear a good one.

Incredible. Hunky Dory has been my favorite Bowie album for decades and this is now in contention of being my preferred version. Really grateful this album has finally gotten some love as I was burned out on reissue after reissue of Ziggy.Pressing is beautiful and I'm very happy with the mastering. One of the best sounding records in my collection now.Only knock on the record is that the CD version has a lot more material. Surprised they didn't do a deluxe vinyl for that (easy money), however will take what I can get.

An expansion on the original? No a geek enough to know entirely what’s different but I love this version and it sounds excellent.

I love Bowie’s singles and ignorantly believed he wasn’t an album artist. This sounds great. Heavy vinyl. Top notch stuff. It was like 18 bucks. Do it.

Great record,I love the mixes and the sound is wonderful.New mix of Bombers is a the best I’ve heard so far,any Bowie fan will love this album!
