Corel Pinnacle Studio 26 Ultimate, Video Editing Software, Digital download

Very good for video editing.

Stuck with Avid Studio 1.1 for years, which has been good. Few niggles along the way, but various simple fixes have kept it going right through to Win 11.This is very similar - loads of bonus content I dont use, again. Editing is similar. Support for surround sound tracks, and various file formats for import, full HD... all seem very simialr to me (this does over 1080p resolution apparently, though I havent used it).Mainly, there is the masking feature that enables, to an extent, tracking moving items to remove them, blur them or change colour etc. Works reasonably well. It doesnt always properly detect though, so can take a lot of time manually altering the masking shapes at various stages through the video.Project bins (and collections) is different too, you don't have to have watch folders anymore (though you can if you like). So you can link media files from where ever they are located, and organise them.It's crashed a couple of times when importing mp4 files for some reason. Worked OK after restart.I think there will be some nice to try features that I havent had a go with yet. Overall, seems pretty good so far - though for me, there arent really great advantages for editing my videos, when compared to my Avid Studio from 2011.

I don't shoot a huge amount of video but when i do I like to be able to edit it quickly and as easily as possible. My editing software is more than a little long in the tooth so when I saw the latest version of Pinnacle Studio was available one sale and with a host of extras I decided to treat myself. Then the issues started. It kept failing during the install process, during the installation of the extras, when I did get it installed the program itself kept dropping out on the splash screen. I know my way around computers, I double checked all my drivers were up to date, windows was up to date, made sure that I was within the specs for the software. Eventually I got in touch with Pinnacle support, 3 days later I had a response and after a bit of email tennis, it started working, despite that all we'd done was swap spec's. I suspect a Windows update made it work.This was annoying, but it happens, tech support was helpful, and the software is now running like it should. Importing files is easy, being able to set up folders for automatic import is a nice trick. It handles the 4k video footage from my drone well and it's good enough that at the moment I am getting good results and not doing a tenth of what the software can offer. As ever you get the video editing software, Pinnacle My DVD and some tutorials to get you going which is handy. This is leaps and bounds ahead of my old editing suit and a huge plus for me is that I own it, I bought this and can use it for as long as I want without having to pay a monthly charge. Yes the deluxe pack is expensive, but I think it's value for money, it works, does a good job and as I haven't seen others having issues with installation etc it must be related to my specific set up. recommended, a star off just for the issues with initial set up. Without that 5 stars all day long.
