UPDATED REVIEWAfter going through a lot of cables and adapters, it seems like the solution was "don't be an idiot". I use my MBP in desktop mode (closed and in a vertical stand on my desk) with a 42" TV as the monitor. It appears that the MBP has to be logged in or woken up with the mouse first for the USB-C port to receive signal. This was different than the Magic Keyboard which would wake the Mac up when in sleep mode. Once I woke the MBP up by moving around my mouse, the keyboard lit up and everything works perfectly. I have been using it since my original bad review (which I am kinda ashamed of, but I'll leave it up for others with the same issue) and it works as it should.Only change I would suggest would be to have a different color of light instead of blue (maybe red instead) to indicate the active USB connection. For me, it is hard to glance at the switch and see which connection is active since the light is recessed and I can't see it well from an angle; you have to look at it pretty straight on to see which one is active. The switch button works great, not loose after using it for multiple weeks, haven't had 1 single problem with it. I can def recommend this one over all of the other much more expensive ones. It has all of the features I wanted in a KVM switch, and none of the stuff that I would never use.Original review:Got this to switch my Corsair kb between Asus PC and MBP 16”. Tried all the cables I have and the ones included and nothing will get the kb to connect to the Mac. I even installed the iCue software on my Mac, still doesn’t work. It works in Windows, but so does the USB port it was plugged into before I connected this. Sending back immediately since it doesn’t work.

I needed a way to use one (1) single keyboard and mouse split between two different computers: My work laptop and my personal desktop. The two computers shared two monitors. I have each monitor set to use HDMI1 for personal and HDMI2 for the work laptop. With the work laptop and two monitors, I can have three monitors. I bought this device to solve the issue. Setup took about two (2) minutes, and it's so easy. Take the two (2) USB cables that comes with it. On my personal desktop, I unplugged the keyboard and replaced with the new USB cable. The other end went into this device. On my work laptop, I took the other new USB cable, plugged it in to a USB port and into this device. Then, the other USB input on the USB switch was reserved for the WifI dongle for the keyboard and mouse. Worked instantly with no need to download drivers. You simply press the round button in the middle to transition back and forth. Transition takes no time at all with no delays. Absolutely recommend!!!!P.S. I am not a gamer so I have no idea how that might be impacted.

I use it to switch my USB keyboard and mouse from my Chromebox to my PC-based notebook. The keys and thumb pad on the notebook are old and crappy, but now and then I need to manipulate an image using Irfanview, which is strictly a PC-based program. I store the image in the cloud, and access it easily from either machine with merely the touch of a button. I no longer need to unplug and plug in cables.

In retrospect I should have gotten one of the bigger switchers but this was cheap and does the job well.I’ve got a desktop computer as well as a laptop/docking station at my desk. Previously I had to have two keyboards/mice on the desk and move them back and forth when I swapped computers. I got two of these and ran them from the mouse and the keyboard to the docking station/desktop and am able to quickly switch it back and forth as needed.Four stars only because it can be a little clunky because the cables come out of both sides.Edit: One of the two I ordered stopped working about 2 months after I ordered it. The return window had closed so they wouldn't refund or send a replacement. Would not recommend.

I use this at home to switch my mouse and keyboard between my desktop PC and my work laptop. Very convent. Sometimes though the switcher will stop responding and I have to disconnect both USB leads to cut power to it and "reset" it. Otherwise it works as I would expect!

I use this device to share a keyboard and a mouse between an older iMac with USB 2 and a newer iMac with USB 3.iMac with USB 2: I have to use a POWERED USB 2 Hub because the build-in USB 2 ports don't supply enough power. I tried a POWERED USB 3 Hub first, but it didn't work.iMac with USB 3: Just plug and play and everything works!

I have a USB hub where my mouse keyboard and other gear are connected to. I have a laptop and a gaming PC where I had to connect/disconnect all the time.For the gaming desktop PC I had to connect on the back. Now with this I have it connected all the time to the PC and a dedicated cable for the laptop and whenever I want to change I just click the button. It feels very well built. I love it.

Works exactly as expected. I use it to allow one very good trackball to work with two different computers, on table where there isn’t room for two sets of peripherals. Switch has a good feel. LEDs indicating the switch setting are visible, but not too bright.
