Design essentials makes some of the best hair products for black women , I live their products and have nothing but good experiences and good things to say , the convenience of being able to order from Amazon and not have to go to the hair store is worth the small increase in price.

I've been using this for years! I love that it tames your edges and doesn't leave a residue or turn white. It goes on clear and also has a very pleasant scent.

NOTE: Ladies, for any edge control products you use, you need to put on a protector, first.MEANING: Meaning, before applying your edge control product, apply a reputable Hair and Scalp Conditioner, like 'Africa's Maximum Strength Super Gro', 'Palmer's Bergamot Formula', etc. Any Hair and Scalp Conditioner of your liking.REASON: Your front edges are the most delicate part of the your hair. Edges, tend to get dry and brittle. If you apply an edge control product to your edges without a protector, especially with relaxed hair, it will get drier and will start to thin. Also, as any product, if you use it enough throughout the week, you will get some build-up. Therefore, you need to wash the build-up out of your hair at least once in the week, or maybe more depending on your hair type. This too, will protect your edges from drying, thinning and/or breaking.OVERALL: Use a protector before applying your edge control product.PERSONAL REVIEW: I find this product to work well, so far. I do apply a protector first before applying the edge control. Also, I do not apply the edge control product every day due to my hair being relaxed, and I swim and/or workout some days. Clorine and sweat will definitely dry and/or break the edges, therefore, I am very protective of my hair.Thank you for reading. I hope this review was helpful.

Nice Edge Control for my edges. It does not last more than few hours on my hair, but it does lay my edges as expected. The scent of it is light. Love it.

I have 4c hair, it didn't dry out my hair. Did what I needed it to do, which is hold down my edges. I did always put this on much before (like an hour and a half) I went outside because there's a colour difference when you first apply. Or you could probably blow dry it, but I don't have one of those

Ok, this works unbelievably well. I have locks and my ends are very coarse. Also it really creates an illusion of thickness, my fine hairs and the slight balding I have in front..it covers it up perfectly. No crazy, greasy residue, no leakage on pillowcases or clothes.. Last almost 24 hrs.. u can even add a little water and it's like u put on more!.. Also u never need to use alot . It lasts really long. My daughter and I both use it.. FYI.. we're both 100% black..

I have 4B/C high Porosity natural hair. For an edge control it definitely slicks back the edges. I also use it as "gel" to slick my entire head of hair into a ponytail. Really does a great job.Con:Only one con and that's after a few hours use in humid heat and sweating my curl pattern comes through and no more slickness.
