DEcent product for the $
I needed this for 2 reasons: 1) to get leverage while trying to stand up in my kayak. 2) As a foothold to get back into my kayak if I fall out or it flips. I used a carabiner to attach it to my kayak.

Firm Handle, Wish Grooves Extended Around Handle
I plan to use this kayak assist strap to help me stand up on my kayak. It will also to provide an extension to the front/back pulls to help get the boat out of the water without having to bend down in an awkward position when the docks are high off the water. This should be more safe. The handle looks like it might flex because of the shape but it is firm. There are grooves on the top of the handle and I wish that extended to the bottom which is where I need the most grip. The bottom part is slick plastic and my fingers slip just a little when I am trying to put pressure on the handle. Other straps I have seen so far are similar. I'll try to turn the handle around so my fingers are over the grooves when I use it. Or I may glue something with more grip on the bottom.

Pretty Good
I got this to assist me on my Sit-On-Top kayak. There are times when I feel I need a little extra stability such as if I'm trying to get on or off by the dock, especially if it's windy. This seems like it will help a lot. I haven't used it yet but I'm not super impressed with the handle portion. It is made of pretty hard plastic and doesn't have a grip portion on the part of your hand that will hold the handle, so I will see how it goes. The strap portion seems nice and sturdy and you can adjust it to fit your needs. This will also be useful if falling off the kayak, so I can get a better hold of it to get back on.

Used with SUP
I have really weak upper body strength and needed some assistance getting back on my SUP when I fall. This helped me get back on by myself.
