Bad filter
The filter ejects the water with a lot of force, causing huge turbulence in the tank, this filter is definitely too much for this size

You Get What You Paid For
Unfortunately this arrived with the glass of the tank shattered from improper packing by Amazon so it will be returned. But I decided to check the filter/pump mechanism. Some serious design problems. First, the water is drawn in and the first media it encounters is ceramic tubes. These are permanently housed in a chamber that cannot be removed so these will gunk-up really quickly and just stay that way. There is a shrimp and brine guard with a narrow sponge filter that clips into onto the outside of the inlet so this could capture some of the gunk before it encounters the ceramic tubes. But the real problem is the floss/ carbon filter has no water forced through it. When you place the filter in water to the proper depth the entire filter container fills with water equally across all chambers. The pump chamber which should only draw water after it has gone through the media/floss chamber simply draws unfiltered water that has entered through the inlet and flowed directly into the pump chamber. So, in short, the filter doesn't work because no water flows through it and then into the pump chamber. It's a "pretend" filter. Unbelievable. Save your money and spend it on a tank with a filter that actually works. The only thing that seems pretty good is the light which has a mixed white/blue setting and a all blue setting.

Mostly satisfied, minimally annoyed
It was easy and intuitive to put together even without instructions, it's size is decent and manageable. The only issue I had is that the glass lid came with a shattered corner, but that's mainly cosmetic that I "fixed" with glue and a paper towel to keep it from chipping more until a replacement comes. It does the job and is fairly cheap. Would recommend that shipping packages it with insulation and maybe stamp mark FRAGILE on it for future shoppers though.

Good Tank but not for Betta
The tank itself is a nice quality tank with a very clear glass that is so clear it appears to be acrylic. However, the filter sucked my betta in and shredded his tell. I made this purchase after watching the video online of a man rescuing a betta. In the video the fish was swimming all over the tank ans appeared to be happy. Now I know that the filter was so strong that it was actually pushing the fish all over the tank. Not good for a betta.
