Exactly what I needed
I’ve recently inherited an Isaan/Lao style mortar from my mother, but it was missing the pestle. I was surprised to find that this pestle is practically identical to the kind my mother would have used. I’ve already made Som Tum with it and it’s been perfect! The size is a bit big for my medium sized mortar, but still comfortable to use.

The craftsmanship is halfway
The media could not be loaded. I was disappointed in the craftsmanship of this pestle. It is nothing like the pictures on line showed. They literally did not finish the staining process. I guess they were in a hurry or just lazy.

Heavy, Pretty Pestle
Exactly as described. It's nice and heavy, making grinding easy and the size makes it go faster for larger batches of herbs. It's also a pretty wood, and a great price.

Sturdy and durable wood.
There is nothing to special when it comes to these pestles, but I noticed the weight and durability. I see this lasting a long time even if you use it daily. It feels great in the hand and gets the job done.

Very light weights and short. Does not do the job well. I had so much better and longer length.
