This stuff worked where all else failed
To my horror one night, as I went into the kitchen for a glass of water, there were cockroaches COVERING my counters and the fronts of the drawers and dish washer!! Of course, I began slapping and squashing and swearing.....to no avail. I was stunned! I hate the darn things. I went on a hunting and cleaning binge the next morning. "Even the cleanest home gets critters", I consoled myself. After many tries at "green" products and then, after failure after failure, trying more toxic sprays, traps of all sorts...well, you get the idea. It all failed. In frustration, I searched online and found Gentrol. I got the kit with the bait and the growth regulator, and followed directions carefully. Since I own a parrot, spraying really was out of the question, and every time I'd sprayed before, I had to "banish" her to the front porch, which made her very unhappy! And sprays generally do best when applied directly to the cockroach! Yeah, right!I put the bait everywhere I knew the bugs were, and then placed the growth regulator packets as directed. No harm to the bird and, apparently, great harm to the roaches! The population thinned out within a week to the occasional bug here and there, then within a month there were NO roaches to be found - even in the middle of the night. Now I control the darn things with the growth regulator, which causes the bugs reproductive systems to fail to mature, and keep the bait for "just in case".THIS STUFF WORKS WHERE ALL ELSE FAILED!!!!!If you've got roaches, get Gentrol and use it! You'll find it works on a wide variety of roaches, not just the little German cockroaches. And good luck! Though with this product, you won't need it :)FOLLOW UP: Oct.2012Still using Gentrol, still no cockroaches. One did come into the house early this fall, but apparently decided it wasn't a safe place to be, and disappeared (or died). Great stuff, highly recommended.

Buy in conjunction with a roach gel bait. They are partners and work great together.
I use this in conjunction with Advion Gel roach bait. Together they have worked wonders. Also you will jmknow its time to change these out when you see a baby one running around. They do work. The affected roach will eventually start looking very haggard, like when Forrest just kept running. Their legs will get crinkly and their wings will look like they are shedding off. You'll think they are ill. It works for me. I live in a wooded area. In winter they come for heat and in summer in search of water. So use this at the same time as your favorite or most successful roach bait. Give it a couple weeks or so and you will notice a major difference. Dont go expecting amazing results. They are insects. They will be here long after we are gone. But this will help get them out your house or at the very least make them way less noticeable, ie. Not falling on you as you watch your favorite show or joining you as you eat your dinner. Any you see after the stuff kicks in and they are mostly gone kill them. Any places with a high rate due to heat, spray it with some raid to annihilate that majority. It takes work. I put these out and would put the advion gel out every night for almost 2 weeks. And the reduction was amazing.

part of a 3-pronged roach annihilation strategy
short version -- DE dust kills the adults. The hatching babies scuttle around in the dust and die. Any that survive suffer from the IGR which makes them sterile. They can't breed, and run around in the DE dust and eventually die too. No babies. Roaches lay a TON of eggs so I left the dust out for like 6 month and then Gentrol activated for about a year since I had 40 units.Full process -- here's my roach 3-pronged attack. Background: I lived in a DC row house. Major issues. Like "turn on the light and hear them scatter" level issues. PRONG 1. Purchase food grade diatomaceous earth (NOT the same as the one for pools - that will kill you). Pour it into a used dawn soap bottle or use a condiment bottle from the dollar store. Basically, it just needs to create a light poof of dust that settles gently over all your surfaces. Your house will look like it snowed and/or has never been dusted. This is OK. Roaches like to scuttle along the edges of things so pay particular attention to the corners and edges of counter tops/floors etc. Poof this dust all over your house. DE works because it basically makes TINY microscopic cuts in the waxy coating on hard-scaled insects that are self contained like roaches (and ants. I got rid of my ants the same way.) They walk over this dust, and get cut up, go away to their homes and dry out, desiccating slowly. Even better, roaches are cannibals, and will eat their dried out brethren - and then dry out from the inside. Food grade DE is safe and people actually use it for extra calcium (shrug). Or use it for chickens to de-louse. Also works for bedbugs. Anyway. That's prong 1. Diatomaceous earth all your surfaces. Leave the dust for months. Roaches who are alive will die. PRONG TWO. I bought these boric acid tablets and threw them into cracks along with DE poofs. This stuff does the same thing but a little stronger. Helps you keep up a general front-line roach kill after you finally cave and dust up the DE. Also serves as a secondary way to kill roaches that have discovered deep dark cracks in your kitchen you can't reach and have no idea how far back they go. Throw these in there too. PRONG 3: Bought Gentrol Point Source. This is a special Roach control device that contains the Gentrol Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) hydroprene for 90-day control of roaches and other stored product pests. Activating Gentrol Point Source is as simple as squeezing the raised end of the plastic, adhesive-back device and stuffing those babies all over your kitchen/home. It apparently covers up to 75 square feet but I put like 10 in my kitchen. To be safe...Basically, the DE dust kills the adults. The hatching babies scuttle around in the dust and die. Any that survive suffer from the IGR which makes them sterile. They can't breed, and run around in the DE dust and eventually die too. No babies. Roaches lay a TON of eggs so I left the dust out for like 6 month and then Gentrol activated for about a year since I had 40 units. left the roach tablets where I scattered/stuffed/ hid them. BOOM. Roach issues gone.

Decent
This product kill roaches well along with the other techniques I used at the time like glue trap, gel bait and roach pellets. They all worked in combination within 3 week period I only saw one live 1 left other day but I live right on water so I have to set up a battle against the roaches.
