Superb sound
First off, I don't like the idea of wireless headphones. They can never compete with wired headphone simply as Bluetooth cannot transmit the same as a wired connection. That being said, they are convenient and I ordered these to go with my Fiio M11s hi Res audio player. And I am glad I did. Initially I had posted a review on the Fiio stating how the sound was perfectly clear but lacked depth and bass - and that was paired with my set of Shure Aeonic In Ear headphones. As soon as I connected these B&Ws the clarity and the depth of sound and bass was all there and present, and it sounds superb. They come with ability to connect via a USB-C cable which improves the sound further.Superb sound, really good build quality, top brand who are seriously good with their speakers. No negatives at all.

PX7 S2
These are outstanding headphones, the best I've ever owned. Crystal clear with enough bass to suit my needs. I've listened to a huge variety of genres and they haven't missed a beat. They just feel grown up and tight. The headphones look stunning too. Build quality is superb.I was able to pick up the PX7 S2's for half price which makes them even more of a bargain. I'm one happy customer.

Plastic : Fantastic
I must admit as I start to write this that I’m a Bowers and Wilkins fanboy. I have their speakers in my living room, a zeppelin in my office and several pairs of headphones. The in ear PI7 live in my bag and see regular use. Over the ear ANC headphones, I usually wear when travelling (planes and trains) and in winter to keep my ears warm. The PX7-S2 out of the box and then out of their very nice protective transport case the headphones didn’t give me the same pleasure as the older headphones. Bowers and Wilkins in the past used to talk about the metal and leather. The PX7-S2 are VERY plastic – earcups, arms, head band and buttons. I understand plastic can be as strong as metal it just doesn’t feel as nice on something I expected to be more premium.I found they very quickly charge up over USB-C. From nearly flat they charged up to 25 percent in about 7 minutes. That is about 7 hours of listening. The stated battery life will outrun any flight at 30 hours. B&W include in the box a USB-C cable to charge but not a power adaptor; and a usb-c to 3.5mm jack to plug into a plane – there isn’t a 2-pin adaptor, but I find those aren’t widely needed anymore.Pairing them to my iPhone was a breeze; and I was surprised the B&W Music app didn’t instantly update the headphone firmware. That is the first in an electronic device for a while. The app lets you configure the noise cancelling; has a bass/ treble tone adjusters and has integrations for several music sources that lets you use the B&W app for everything. The app gives detailed battery life, which is where I did the charging test. The app also lets you configure the ”spare” button between ANC setting or activate Siri (or google assistant etc.)With the batteries charged up I finally slipped the power switch to on; and having a physical switch is a delight from pressing a button from a random amount of time. I put them on and ran them through my headphone test playlist, have worn at home and walking around the city for a few days too.The comfort factor is good with these headphones. I have a big head and some headphones feel like they are squeezing me. These even after 4 hours of wearing them today haven’t felt like that. They do get hot inside; when I did take them off my ears thanked me.The playlist has a mixture of orchestral, Jazz, pop and electronic music. My love of B&W speakers and headphones has always been as a result of their punchy flat sound; if you are all about the bass the tone slider will delivery it (I tried it for science.) Personally, I didn’t need to adjust the tone adjusters to get a sound I liked; for me they sound awesome. There is a huge amount of detail, and it doesn’t sound mushy. What is a true surprise is this is the case with and without the noise cancelling turned off. If you want to hear Nina Simone breathing whilst belting out a song whilst walking past an idling bus these are the first headphones, I have tried that can do it. It also handles the delicate electronic harps in the Girl in Byakkoya keeping them brittle despite the rich musical texture and bass pad effects all around them. The choir in Duel of the Fates feels like it is surrounding you; whilst the chase builds up but the brass section sound crisp. I must admit as I start to write this that I’m a Bowers and Wilkins fanboy. If you want to hear everything Royksopp throw into a track these are great headphones for that experience; but you get the punchy energy along with the detail.Cranked up to full volume for the experience the detail doesn’t disappear, though bass becomes a little more prominent. They go far louder than I could stand for a long time. What really surprised me most about the PX7 though was how good the noise cancelling tech experience is. B&W have added more microphones to improve it, and the ANC is a huge step forward from the year old in ear PI7. There is no hiss when you don’t have the music. I am writing this wearing them in front of a fan with no music playing and I can’t hear the fan. The ANC experience is on another level from the on-ear headphones I have like Airpods Max or Bose 700s. I haven’t tried the new Sony M5s (I found the predecessor M4s to be uncomfortable on long flights.)The battery life is great; but you can only use the headphones switched on. 30 hours will get you to Sydney by most routes from the UK, so this is maybe not the end of the world. Combined with the rapid recharge if you are using them to commute in the UK these are just the ticket. Taking them travelling I’m sad that B&W don’t allow the ear cups to fold up; the transport case takes up far too much space to carry it onto most planes –its 189 x 233 x 63mm. With the ANC being so good at transport noise though they are going with me; they make listening to music so enjoyable for me. 4*s for the plastic

Fantastic noise cancelling. Immersive sound.
In a bid to downsize my Home Theatre 5.1 setup for lack of use, and give the living room back to the missus, I decided to try some bluetooth headphones as an interim while I mulled over what soundbar I wanted to replace my old separates system. After reading many good reviews on these and owning other equipment by B&W I plumbed for these.I connected them with no issue to my Sony A90 OLED and was astonished by the clarity and soundstage when listening to tv and movies.I'm in no rush getting that soundbar. They're great for music too. Haven't tried noise cancelling before. My first experience was sitting in my work van on a Tesco car park with the engine running and the window open eating my lunch. Engage the NC and it's like taking the keys out of the ignition and the wind noise disappeared. It's so effective.Very Impressed.

Superb Headphones
Having previously owned Bowers and Wilkins speakers and headphones I knew that these PX7 S2 headphones would be very good. In fact they are superb. Comfortable to wear over prolonged periods, excellent noise cancellation and magnificent sound quality. On top of this they look good and are obviously a high quality product manufactured to the highest standards. In short nothing less than brilliant.

didn't last long
So disappointing, bought this in Nov and used it for a few months (at home and I'm a control freak) now one side doesn't work and there is a crackling noise so the quality is very poor in my view

Of course they are good!
You didn’t come to this list to find out if these are good - we both know they are good. Are they better than comparative products in the same price bracket is what you want to know. Already the owner of Bose headphones, I was hoping to find something better - I don’t think I’ve found them! Yes, sound reproduction of the B&W is great, at the margins possibly better, but only slight. Comfort though, and the Bose win hands down at the moment. B&W might loosen their “grip” with more use perhaps. The Bose product is some 4 years old, so very well run in, but they also feel lighter. Time will tell. You probably won’t be disappointed with this product, I’m sure. I’ll certainly persevere, and might well update this review over time, but for now they lose a point in comfort rating. Noise cancelling is very good - again possibly not quite as good as the Bose, but not far off.
